You could not request seats ahead of time and would tell you check in online and when you tried it would fail and told us to go to the airport which we did the day before and they told us they couldn’t do anything. Every agent told us something different about meal plans and seats. Crew onboard were not friendly and rude to us in economy. The vegetarian meal requested was awful and ended up being vegan which was not what we requested. When I asked for fruit plate off the regular menu the flight attendant never followed back up with me and so we didn’t eat any food for on a 15+ hour flight. Even though they had 100+ empty seats we couldn’t move around. Overall I was highly disappointed in their service on this flight."

Cons: "One hour delay taking off. Departure gate change. Cramped seating. When plane totally loaded, further wait for ground crew to load baggage. No refreshments until way late due to delay. Water should have been offered during the delay due to loading."

Cons: "ruin my seat arrangement for no reason! We were traveling as a family of 7 (2 grandparents from each side, my husband, my 4 year son and myself). We paid $30 per person per seat so that we could sit together and watch out for each other because some of the grandparents are in their 80's. However, when we checked in, we found out all our seats were re-arranged and in the worst possible way! Our 4 year old child was assigned in middle seat no where near my husband or myself. In addition, the family was divided in half, separated by the service station. I had switched seat so I can sit with my son but my husband had to sit at the other side of the service station to take care of the other half of the family because they do not speak English. I was left to attend to my 4 year old son by myself, which was hard to do. what bothers me the most is that there seem to be no obvious reason for them to re-arranged seats in such a devastating manner - it was not a full flight at all. I saw quite a few empty seats in the back. We spoke to the woman who was the head of the stewardess about the problem upon boarding, she said she would try to see what she could do, but she never got back to us at all. The seats were horrible seats for a few reason. First, there were a lot of traffic and noise from crew and other passengers because they were next to the Service station. Second, we were always the last one to receive food service because of the location. This is a problem when you have 4 year old and 80 years old who were diabetics."

Cons: "The airport closure wasn't PALs fault but the absolute lack of organisation and an attitude "act of God so look after yourself" is disgusting. Flying business expected some service but had nothing and they smiled and said they rebooked me 16 days later. Other airlines would book you on different carriers but not PAL. Last time no matter what special deal they offer."

Cons: "My family of 4 were not seated together even though all four tickets were purchased together in the same booking. After booking through KAYAK for flights, the on-line check-in process was a nightmare with the KAYAK booking number not matching the information required by QANTAS. As my children were all spread over the plane, and two son's look very similar, a hostess almost did not serve one of my son's a meal as she believed my son had already received a meal further forward in the plane. Thankfully, upon checking, the hostess realised that it was a case of mistaken identity."

Cons: "My remote in my arm rest (58D) was a bit broken. While it still worked, the flap was missing some screws to hold it in place. Also, the touch screen oftentimes had issues sensing my finger on the pause button. Overall it did not hinder me from enjoying the entertainment services provided."

They did not stop passengers from unloading their bags and standing up before the flight even stopped at the gate. I am frustrated with Qantas overall because we landed late and because of the customs requirement we had to pick up our bags and bring them to another bag drop for my American Airline flight to Tampa. Because of the flight delay and Customs I missed my flight by 10 minutes. And am now awaiting the next flight home which was 4 hours later."

Cons: "American Airlines cancelled a flight because of ‘weather’ from Msy to dfw, all other flights from Msy to Dallas operated on time but were sold out. We were re booked flying through San Francisco, missing out on flying on qantas, which is what I had paid for since they are a premium airline. We were booked on virgin America and then United for the international flight. United charged us each for 2 bags totalling $150 each, despite we booked a ticket with qantas which allows 2 bags each. Virgin America honoured our 2 bags, but united refused to. United also has service and aircraft which do not match the levels of qantas which I has specifically sought out. I could not eat some of the food because of the poor quality, and this is something I’ve never done before on an international flight. Additionally their were a lack of amenities on both flights, and no food vouchers despite our travel delay of over 5 hours. This whole ordeal has cost me money, worktime, and created a lot of stress to where I have had to cancel meeting on my arrival in Sydney."

Pros: "It was nearly impossible to get in or out of our seats when the chairs in front of us were reclined. When they are straight up it was no problem. Legroom was ample and the blankets and pillows were a nice touch."

No wifi, which is a first. Most airlines I fly on these days always have some type of wifi. Lastly, the 'touch-screen' on the seat for entertainment barely worked. Buttons didn't work no matter how much you touched them. There was a delay and the selection of movies and tv were pathetic. I will not be flying Qantas again."

None of this was presented before. I have not traveled to Australia before, so I had no idea this needed to be done. As of now I am still at home trying to find a solution to this requirement."

Pros: "Some of the flight attendants were quite excellent. I appreciate that Qantas still makes available a toothbrush and muesli bars, tho the selection of in-flight snacks has been greatly reduced."
Cons: "Seating is far too tight - of course, Qantas is not the only one guilty of this. If there were a true emergency, evacuating the plane would be nightmarish under the "packed-in" scenario we are faced with these days."
