My flight out of London was canceled on September 9. We could not get a flight to Italy until 2 days later. That means we would miss my son's wedding. So we had to take a train from Heathrow to central London (14 £ = $18.99). We then had to take the train from London to Paris (612£=$830.24). We had to take a taxi from the Paris train station to the Hotel Sixteen in Paris (€67.5=$78.67). Our hotel in Paris is (€340 = $396.26). Our flight from Paris to Italy was (€442.25=$515). I paid for a very expensive Business Class seat to and from Cairo Egypt from Charleston SC. There was partnership from states to London using American Airlines. That leg was amazing. The British Airlines leg was a joke. They used the standard no leg room 3 by 3 seats. A tray was put on the middle seat. The trip was 5 hours, from London to Cairo, thus my BC purchase. There was no screen proving tv/movie options, only a small device plug. The fold down tray and the bag of peanuts were typical of normal short run flying. The one toilet was located in the galley. We all got to know each other well. This was my first and last trip with British Airlines. I now understand why they would NEVER give me a seat chart so that I could make a selection.prior to departure. It honestly would not have made a difference, there were less than 50% of occupied seats. Apparently everyone got the memo but me. I have never felt so cheated as with that trip, got to so another going back to London, yeah. I will be sending a letter to customer service and asking for a refund. I will be photos comparing the two BC legs. OH, one more thing. The FC ticket holders got bulkhead and exit row seats. I know they had to be thrilled
The leg from Portland to Heathrow was great for a business class ticket. The BA leg from Heathrow to Lisbon was terrible. Basically coach seating with an empty seat between you and next passenger. Absolutely no leg room. Should not have been charged for business class and it was a 3 hour flight.
Plane is old. Toilet did not work. Once in Singapore the continuation to London was cancelled.
Good crew and on time but old plane and poor breakfast
The crew will not help you with the overhead bin even if you are business class. If they do, there's always the sentence " we are not supposed to lift anything".... To charge for seat assignment in business class is nothing short of money grabbing/ ripoff. The ground service in London is better than Vancouver, which was atrocious.
After British Airways flying with Qatar was a breath of fresh air. All the little things that make a long haul flight awesome. Efficient, friendly, genuine. Amazing.
Air hostess delayed providing food and then pulled away the tray before i finished eating
In the "old" configuration Club class, in an aisle seat you are literally sleeping in the aisle with no privacy at all. In addition, there is hardly any storage space, and it is hard to make sense of the seat controls.
Everything was excellent, although flight delayed however can’t control that, but what I don’t understand is why the smallest portion of food ie: bit of rice & bit of chicken (no exaggeration) no salad, no veges, nothing else, but cake & icecream later…this is just not a great reflection on the quality of airlines. People spend $1,500 on a flight surely airlines can spend an extra $1 on their passengers meals…even bread & butter can do the trick. ESP on a 8 hour flight! Cutting costs is one thing, but this is just not ok.
