I loved the service on board. Nothing seems to be too difficult (this was refreshing as I have flown on many flights throughout Asia and America where the service ethic was not strong. Experiencing airlines such as Qantas, United, Asiana, China Eastern, British Airways, Southwest Airlines and many more). Food was good. My kids loved the snacks; chips, Weiss mango icecream, apples, Hawaiin chips etc. A big shout out for the friendly airline. Keep up the great service."

Their inability to rectify the situation on the spot resulted in all outbound flights to LA being full by the time I landed in LAX and a subsequent 3-day stay in LA… hence missing my wedding anniversary. Thankfully my husband purchased the first available ticket at US$1,000 and was able to get me back to NYC in time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I am extremely disappointed that Virgin Australia did not amend the flight when I first called - staff in LA further reinforced that Syd ground staff should have been more helpful. On top of all of this I had to pay US$120 for excess baggage due to 20kg restrictions - what international flight only allows 20kg. All in all this has been an extremely disappointing experience and I will not be flying virgin for any further international trips."

I understand keeping folks in check so they don’t bring big bulky items, and I get pushing the weight angle to drive sales, but taking the bag (after folks have paid for the “extra weight”) and putting it in the belly is excessive. As a male, I had no purse and all of my items were taken from me and I had to hope they made it to the other side (which they did, but it isn’t always the case). However, my wife was allowed to have two items (purse and carryon) as long as each were under the 7kilos and combined weren’t over 15 kilos. My bag was 14.4 kilos. Same weight being brought on and it’s just semantics and really kinda sexist against men if you think about it. Just sayin..."

I even placed my bag in the sizer at the gate but she still told me it was too large and "too heavy" although she did not weigh nor pick up my bag. About 5 minutes prior I had seen her walk a guitar that had been gate checked down to the plane. My bag was not so lucky. I arrived at Avalon and my bag didn't. My bag was going to arrive on the next plane which wasn't coming in for 3 hours. We were staying about an hour from the airport and boarding an early morning flight from Tullamarine to Los Angeles. Deliveries of missed luggage ceased 2 hours before my bag was due at the airport and didn't commence until after I was due at Tullamarine the next morning. The flight attendant who made me check my bag was on my flight and easily could have told me my bag wouldn't be making it on our flight but she didn't. She was rude, smug, and unaccomodating. The customer service representative at Avalon, Debbie, was more than helpful trying to figure out the best option for me to retrieve my luggage before my flight home to Los Angeles. She made a stressful situation a little less so. Thank you Debbie!"

However, they made sure to charge us every penny possible for our luggage. I could not get a simple cup of water on the flight without paying for it. Jetstar is a terrible airline and I would not recommend it to anybody!"
Cons: "I booked a return flight from Brisbane to Sydney for a business meeting that only lasted a few hours. I flew in Domestic and when I tried checking in for the return flight they said I was booked on international and had to take a train to that terminal. When I arrived at the International terminal they then told me I needed a Passport or Australian ID. I only had Canadian ID as I didn't need anything other than my booking number to fly into Sydney. So they then book me back on a later flight home at the domestic terminal so then I had to take the train back to where I started from. The staff just looked at me like I was the stupid one through this circus."
