Cons: "The food service was not great. They should increase the frequency of meals. Got the worst seats both time. The seats are old and recliner doesn’t come forward as it should"

I have a business meeting tomorrow morning and presently they can't even reconcile their own Baggage Receipt number! I expect more when travelling (and paying) for business class."

Pros: "The plane itself was nice and comfortable for me. The business class seat fully laid down, and there were lots of entertainment options. The flight was quick! 15hr flight from Melbourne to LAX only took 13 hours!"
Cons: "Several of the food items were either cold or overdone. I asked hostess what the deal was (because their food service is usually great) and she explained that in this new plane (Boeing 787) they removed a lot of the working areas for the crew. They have less space to work in order to be able to prepare food and drinks compared to Qantas's other planes (Airbus A380). This is also a brand new plane for this crew (literally the first flight for some for some of them), and they didn't know where some of the things on the plane were. I imagine after they've used the plane for a while and learn where everything is, they'll get better. I'll find out on the return flight back to Melbourne."

Cons: "The soggy pies were a bit, well, soggy ... The changeover at Dubai seemed unnecessary. Having to go through security tho get from airside to airside was a bit daft. The crew gave little information on how that changeover was going to happen, and when they did it was just before landing."

Cons: "Stewards missed serving me twice. I pressed call button and was ignored. Kids meal and vegetarian preferences were ignored. Abu Dhabi made all Sydney passengers go through security including full cabin luggage checks twice. Abu Dhabi made me check in the duty free that I bought in Dublin. It was a connecting flight so why on earth was that something I had to do. I could not check in online, choose seats or update preferences. They sat my daughter separately and I was fobbed off in each airport and until Abu Dhabi where the cabin manager took so long I had to ask another passenger to swap. My son was sick as he walked off the ramp and I had to stand and direct people around the vomit for over 10 minutes while staff dragged their feet getting help. I will never fly Virgin with Etihad again."

Pros: "I found my experience with Virgin very good. I don't fly too often. I am over 70 and found both the ground staff and on board so courteous and helpful. Would fly again with them. Take off and landings were so gentle which is something I fear, but they have inspired me to "take-off" and enjoy my life."

I had to stay the night in Adelaide, missing my morning appointment in Sydney and still pay for the hotel I booked in Sydney for that night. I had to pay for the cab back to the airport. I'm told I can go on line for refund as if I haven't already been inconvenience enough I have to deal with that. To add insult to injury my aisle seat was changed to a middle."

Cons: "I booked this flight for my mum who has dementia. I was told o pick her up at the excess baggage area, where her walker would be and that she would be brought by staff there via wheelchair. After 45mins and no mum, I asked staff where she was. They said they were waiting for me at the gate as they didn't have enough staff to bring her, and I couldn't take her walker through security, so I had to go there and pick her up (passing 4 staff members with golf carts just sitting and waiting). luckily she wasn't distressed, but when I got to her, the man at the desk was then told over the radio tthat he could bring her down... poorly organised. Not the end of the world, because she was okay, but it could have been really upsetting for her otherwise."

Cons: "Madeleine my cabin staff member was extremely rude and less than accommodating and when I tried to broach it with the Cabin Supervisor - he asked me firstly "'have you done anything to upset her"? Terrible form Virgin Australia. A complaint has been tweeted and shared direct with VBA online."

Cons: "Disorganized boarding. Had to disembark due to light malfunction. 6 hours later we took off. I had paid extra to depart in that early flight, Virgin only gave us an $8 voucher- $8 doesn't go very far in an airport restaurant. Issue should have been fixed before passengers boarded. First time flying with them and am pretty disappointed. However, am happy they didn't crash us. I guess that's what really matters. Excellent cabin crew, they all went the extra mile during the entire debacle."
