My experience here was terrible. Had asked for car pickup at 8am and only got it at 9am. The car was not ready and was being cleaned in front of us as we were walked over to it for pickup. During that time the executive there talked us unto removing our existing insurance and getting insurance directly through them which is something that could have been done prior to our arrival there as part of their customer care services instead of inconveniencing us while we were standing outside - as part of COVID regulations they don't allow you inside their offices anymore so we are standing out in the heat doing all this. When we got to the car, in front of us, their executive turned it on to read the gas mileage and then handed us the keys. When we sat in the car, the tire pressure and two other alarms lit up on dashboard. The fact that the executive tried to give us that car with all those things lighting up seems extremely careless and rudimentary. We had to walk back and let them know to then have them offer us another car. Where was that car? In another garage that would take according to them 5 minutes to get there but considering we already had waited an hour to get the first car, we were in no position to believe that 5 minutes was a true estimate of time. We left and cancelled our rental with them. Extremely unprofessional service and will certainly not be heading here anytime or referring anyone for business there either. This was an hour and a half of time wasted on our outward journey that was completely unnecessary and shouldn't have occurred at all.9.6 Wonderful

Pros:
I search the rental car at LAX airport, search results came cheap , I booked with comments that kayak has agreement with Hertz rental car. I paid on line with prepayment. When appear at LAX Hertz it appears that your prepaid option was 40 miles away from the Airport. I ended paying $140 more apart from what I prepaid $240 . So not a good experience, I will advise never opt for Prepaid option , you loose flexibility with no option and end up paying more. Prepaid option has the penalty associated, for sake of $20 customers end up paying moreCons:

Kayak got me a cat 45minuts drive from where I needed it without a change notice, so I came to LAX expecting to get a car and it was in Encino, an hour away, so I spent an hour on the phone for a credit and then, Hertz got me a car and made me happy and of course, cost me 30 more than Kayak was reserving, So next time I go to herts direct, they know what to do4.0 Mediocre

The car could not hold two suitcases in the back, since the design of the trunk of this car. We had to place one large suitcase on the back seat between the kids. For a long drive this was inconvenient. Additionally, it was very confusing where and how to drop of the car at the circus circus hotel. No signage and no information. I was not provided with an envelope to drop of the keys in the Dropbox. I guess the pick up location should have had this information, and I did ask but the personal at the pick up location did not know.6.4 Okay

I called customer service on my way to return to set up a ride home and was treated to the absolute WORST customer service team in my life,in any business. We booked a car online for you pick up at 9am only to find out the car would not be available until 1pm. We were moved to a different dealership but still had to pick up the car 2 hours late. We were then told we could not extend our rental as we were going to be late dropping off the car on the same day due to picking it up 2 hours late. We were driving from LA to SAN Francisco and due to the delay we missed out seeing tourist spots along the drive. Overall very disappointed with this service.8.4 Very Good
