Pros: "My Mum has mild dementia and was going to Sydney from Maroochydore to visit family. From check in at MCY to arrival back at MCY the staff looked after her very well. She needed assistance boarding and disembarking and they were very helpful and courteous and that's why I choose Virgin over the other airline that flies the same route."

Pros: "The lumbar support in the Virgin seat makes all the difference, plus the info re toilets, either get up now or wait till food service stops, and the instruction to put seat in upright position for eating much appreciated. I also LOVED the unexpected brilliant in-house video of psychology. Dr Andrew Ley(?) Food was great, nothing ridiculous, hot tasty and healthy. I liked there was no over packaging that took up my tray table room. Jetstar is a torture chamber with those seats that cause your back to curl over."

Cons: "The boarding had not started at the time due 22:25, I went to the rest room and on return the gate was closed for boarding. Staff advised they had commenced removing my luggage from the plane. The plane was still there but they would not let me board.! There was no call or final call or even a personal call with my name., staff said they were not required to do that. Then after pleading with no result, I requested my baggage. Staff sent me to baggage claim 2. There was no baggage, and by that time no Virgin Australia staff in the airport until 3pm the following day. I was stuck in a foreign airport, no luggage, no assistance at all from Virgin Australia to get my luggage, find accommodation, rebook a flight which resultingly cost US$900. I was distraught, the plane was still there and my luggage had not yet been removed and they refused me to board the flight!! The Virgin guy in charge was obnoxious and could not have cared less about my welfare, he personally accused me of swearing and I calmly reminded him I had not once used derogitorive language, that language was from another customer who was also refused to board. I question W that the flight was overbooked? This is not the airline Sir Richard Branson whom I have briefly met in Cairns airport promotes. Pitiful service.!!"

Cons: "I got to Sydney from LA at 10am on a Thursday after my flight was delayed by over an hour because of catering issues. I brought a carryon luggage with me but was forced to check it because it was overweight. That's totally fine. When I went to baggage claim after the flight, my luggage was no where to be found. I went to the help desk and was told they have no idea where my bag was. They asked for my contact info and was told to wait for a call. I continuously called to check the status and it was still not located. Finally I heard from them Saturday morning and I got my bag delivered on Saturday at 8pm. I had to leave for my flight at 6am Sunday. I had no clothes and wasted so much time and money shopping for necessities. Very unhappy about."

I paid more for baggage on this flight than the previous flight even tho I paid for a lower amount of kilos. I decided to drive for the next of my flags instead of fly Jetstar again. Over it."

We mistakingly did not have prebooked baggage, and had to pay an arm and a leg to get our bags to Sydney. Avoid Jetstar at all costs. I have heard plenty of other horrible things from other customers."

We didn't get food, and entertainment was nonexistent (which is why we went with what we thought was Quantas). Added to the long line for Jetstar bag drop and the uncomfortable airplane, I'll never fly Jetstar again. Furthermore, Quantas should seriously consider whether lying to its customers is a good strategy."

Almost lost my luggage. Carousel took forever to retrieve luggage. Flight left 50 minutes late. Reduced airport staff = 80 people not checked in by 10 minutes till boarding. Everyone was going through security when the flight was calling "final boarding". Poor entertainment and food selection. A lot of Asians were on this flight and no staff member spoke Asian for those who didn't speak English - which is strange for an Asia predominant airline. This led to some confusion between the crew and passengers delaying departure due to head count issues."

Cons: "Upon arriving at Cairns Airport, my sister and I arrived at the gate 2 hours early to our JQ16 flight to Sydney! We had accommodations already set up in Sydney through AirBnB on Coogee Beach. As we anticipated a quick 3 hour flight, we were sadly disappointed to hear the flight would be delayed due to crew scheduling. I understand sometimes thing don't always go as planned and some delays are unforeseen! However, when delays are due to the airlines incompetence of scheduling a crew it is quite frustrating! The 7:35am flight went from being delayed a few hours, to being delayed over 10 hours! Very little information was given to us about the flight and the airline was very unhelpful trying to accommodate us to a different flight to Sydney! We were told that we could be refunded for our flight and book another flight to Sydney.. This was absurd considering a one-way flight to Sydney last minute would run us around $500 and up each! We were offered a $15 food voucher, which basically covered a cup of coffee! After finally boarding the plane and it seemed the airlines incompetence continued! We waited to be taxied out because they didn't have a tug-cart to take us out.. Finally, around 6pm we took off! We arrived at Sydney right around 9pm.. Upon arriving, once again we had to wait for a tug-cart! Finally we got off the plane around 9:15pm! After finally getting through customs and out of the airport, it was now after 10pm and we had lost our booming for our Airbnb booking! We called the airline only to find they were unable to accommodate us for our lost Airbnb accommodation! They were very unhelpful and told us we could book another hotel and if we were lucky, the "may" reimburse us but there is no guarantee! We were now again stuck in the airport for another 12 hours as we waited for our international flight! After my experience with Jetstar, I will never recommend anyone to fly this airline, and discourage them to to so! Very disappointed in their service!"

Cons: "I was on 3 day vacation booked to fly off at 7am from Sydney to reach Cairns at 10am and return after 2 days taking 7:15pm flight to reach Sydney around 10pm. This will be complete 3 days plan in Cairns. They delayed morning 7am flight by 4 hours. We went to the airport at 4am and sitting there till 11am. They did not even provide food coupon in spite of me approaching supervisor. Reached Cain at 3pm and by the time I picked my car and ready for sight seeing time is over and entire city is quite. We lost one day. Return fight at 7:45 cancelled and they moved us to 12 noon. We lost that day as well. Very bad baggage service."

You didn't have any choice (other than not eating a salad...) - The aircraft required some updates to its facilities. The chairs, audio jacks, and TV monitor weren't functioning properly at all for the 16 hour flight"
