I had boasted to my fam that Quantas (was famous in my memory) as having economy seats that felt more like other airlines Business Seats. My kids were eager to experience the "Quantas" seats. I was severely dissapointed to find that your economy seats, now, are even smaller than the Chinese seats we regularly fly (we are in our 5th year of ex-pat assignment in China). You should have seen the look on my kids faces. Evidently, i must have "talked Quantas up too much", because there was a great deal of dissapointment. We will travel back to NZ and Aus., this fall, but will no longer prioritize Quantas as our airline of choise. I guess times change, and a little bit of nastalgia lost.... :("

They should have just allowed us since we know it's possible. We spent 14, 000NZ additional for that mistake."

Return flight booked all at once, Sydney to dallas to bwi. Sydney flight late, gave us special red easy pass envelope with boarding pass to connect to dallas-bwi flight. We had to wait for luggage, then in line for customs, and another line for re checking luggage, then walk to next gate and another security line, and flight left without us. Easy pass did nothing for us. Missed flight by 5 min. Gave us the impression when we got off sydney flight they were going to wait for us. Waited 45 min for luggage, 20 min for customs and 10 min for security. If we had any special treatment at any stage we would have made our connection. Worst experience with American Airlines ever."

When we finally landed in Sydney my wife's luggage was missing they discovered that it was left behind in Dallas. The airline later told me after I called back to check the status her bag did make it on a later flight only to discover that they were wrong. No bag as of yet, our entire vacation has been a disaster."

The lady at the counter said that we had to check in at least 3 hours before the flight, which is a lie. I'd have to do my darndest to rewind the movie, while trying to get the audio jack to work. It took a lot of work to get the movie to rewind, and then after it started, I couldn't get the touch screen to work for it to stop & play again. Sometimes it would rewind the movie 20-30 minutes before I could get it to play again. All very frustrating."

There was another lady checking clubs too, and you would thing it was the fist time they had ever had to check golf clubs into a flight; I assume that's not true."

I stand at 5 feet tall and of course always have lots of leg room. Rarely do I get uncomfortable on planes.... But with the constant jostling from my rear neighbor I was unable to sleep, relax, and get comfortable."

Airport was cold no where to comfortably laydown....no lounges were open....and this flight was cheaper than the non-stop and I want a refund to that effect......they actually tried to suggest a flight over 5 days later!!! Where is the justification here? No even a beverage was offered!! Not very nice!!! Urima Matavao...."

The Delta employee at the gate was rude, unapproachable and unhelpful. She told me ai was lucky to get a seat. When my wife rang Virgin to find out why my paid, and confirmed flight did not entitle me to a seat allocation when I checked my bags, she was told it was Delta's fault. When she called Delta they informed her that the flight had been overbooked. All in all a very poor customer service from both Airlines."

Honestly I don't know how he got a customer-facing position when his best response is "you should know better" when we mentioned that we were under the impression that the carry on baggage limit didn't include purses. We didn't get food, and entertainment was nonexistent (which is why we went with what we thought was Quantas). Added to the long line for Jetstar bag drop and the uncomfortable airplane, I'll never fly Jetstar again. Furthermore, Quantas should seriously consider whether lying to its customers is a good strategy."

Cons: "Being charged $50 to gate-check a carryon bag, when that same bag had not been a problem on the Syd-Cairns flight! Being charged $4 for a can of mostly flat pepsi..."

Cons: "Hit with $100 extra baggage charges for carry-ons that were judged to be too heavy despite ample room in overhead and under seat compartments."

Cons: "Kayak did not disclosed the price quoted did not include fees for luggage. I would never buy a ticket thru Kayak again."

Cons: "They only allow 7kg carry on which forced us to check 2 bags @ $30 each. It's just to extract money. It looked like a reasonable fare but by the time we paid fees, seats and luggage, another airline would be a better choice. They chatged us a $60 "third party" between Queenstown and Cairns. Ridiculous...I won't fly with them again."

Totally ridiculous because yoi site does not have a place to add bag charge. Really putting a damper on my trip. I will never use your sitee again. It is not fair to put this extra expense on someone when it could have been taking care of at the beginning. Of you all set your website up right!"

Cons: "Had employee going down boarding line with a scale charging extra $50 if you were over their ridiculously low weight limit for a carry on bag. Had no problem with same bag on numerous other airlines."

Cons: "We flew from Sydney to Cairns with a carry on suitcase and a personal item (backpack/purse) with no problem. On the way back, we were charged AUD$50 and were forced to check our bags. It was clearly not due to a space limitation but rather just a way to make money as not everyone was forced to check bags."

Cons: "A bit chintzy to be charged for water, soft drinks and coffee. I thought at least getting water was a safety issue to prevent de-hydration. The airplane seats were not very comfortable. I had paid for extra baggage but the check in desk could find no record of it. We would up not needing it, so I guess that money is just lost in cyberspace."

Cons: "I always travel with a backpack so I don't have to check anything. I fly with it all the time. I have never, ever been told it is too big... that is absurd! An agent stopped me at boarding and weighed it... it was a hair over and they charged me $50 to check it. Really? I can understand charging for roller bags that take up space, but it fits under the seat!"

Cons: "Rude flight attendants. Overly complicated luggage requirements. No food. No drinks, not even water. No entertainment. Uncomfortable seats. Needless to say, I wouldn't fly Jetstar unless you can get your ticket a lot cheaper than with any other airline."

Cons: "Flight was changed to earlier flight - was guaranteed a window and did not get a window; had to change from the domestic to international terminal and then had to go through CUSTOMS for this domestic flight because it came out of international terminal adding time to my travel. Almost lost my luggage. Carousel took forever to retrieve luggage. Flight left 50 minutes late. Reduced airport staff = 80 people not checked in by 10 minutes till boarding. Everyone was going through security when the flight was calling "final boarding". Poor entertainment and food selection. A lot of Asians were on this flight and no staff member spoke Asian for those who didn't speak English - which is strange for an Asia predominant airline. This led to some confusion between the crew and passengers delaying departure due to head count issues."

Pros: "Easy of Boarding"
Cons: "Jetstar is a low budget airline similar to Jet Blue in the US. When you book ensure that you pay for one or two pieces of luggage if you don't you will get a rude awakening upon check in. We had to pay an extra $200.00 to get our luggage to Cairns. Ensure you buy luggage if you book a Jetstar flight on the internet."

Pros: "At least the checkin staff member moved me to an earlier flight"
Cons: "One crew member in particulat chatted loudly for much of the flight - it was annoying. The same person was also unfriendly to passengers for some reason. A big overweight fellow with a piercing nasal voice. Also I was charged an extra $50 for a checked bag - seemed very unfair when if you google 'Jetstar cabin baggage allowance' it says 10 kg!"

Pros: "The staff was very friendly and the plane was clean."
Cons: "The seats are uncomfortable. It was only a 3-hour flight so I understand. I hope the same seats aren't used in an international flight. Also, baggage is an extra fee so be prepared to pay a lot for that. To top it off, you have to pay for coffee, soda, etc. It's a no-frills airline."

Cons: "Upon arriving at Cairns Airport, my sister and I arrived at the gate 2 hours early to our JQ16 flight to Sydney! We had accommodations already set up in Sydney through AirBnB on Coogee Beach. As we anticipated a quick 3 hour flight, we were sadly disappointed to hear the flight would be delayed due to crew scheduling. I understand sometimes thing don't always go as planned and some delays are unforeseen! However, when delays are due to the airlines incompetence of scheduling a crew it is quite frustrating! The 7:35am flight went from being delayed a few hours, to being delayed over 10 hours! Very little information was given to us about the flight and the airline was very unhelpful trying to accommodate us to a different flight to Sydney! We were told that we could be refunded for our flight and book another flight to Sydney.. This was absurd considering a one-way flight to Sydney last minute would run us around $500 and up each! We were offered a $15 food voucher, which basically covered a cup of coffee! After finally boarding the plane and it seemed the airlines incompetence continued! We waited to be taxied out because they didn't have a tug-cart to take us out.. Finally, around 6pm we took off! We arrived at Sydney right around 9pm.. Upon arriving, once again we had to wait for a tug-cart! Finally we got off the plane around 9:15pm! After finally getting through customs and out of the airport, it was now after 10pm and we had lost our booming for our Airbnb booking! We called the airline only to find they were unable to accommodate us for our lost Airbnb accommodation! They were very unhelpful and told us we could book another hotel and if we were lucky, the "may" reimburse us but there is no guarantee! We were now again stuck in the airport for another 12 hours as we waited for our international flight! After my experience with Jetstar, I will never recommend anyone to fly this airline, and discourage them to to so! Very disappointed in their service!"

Pros: "In exit row, comfort was outstanding-worth $20! Cabin crew very friendly. flight on time."
Cons: "The week before they canceled my flight leaving at 7:30 pm and moved me to a noon flight causing me to lose a day at the Great Barrier reef. The next day I received a flight change for a flight I am taking next month! I heard from others this is very common."

Cons: "We had nearly 3 hours return light from Sydney to Cairns, Australia, and back. No complement beverages, even soft drink or water, was served. Water and soft drinks were unreasonably expensive to purchase."

Pros: "Hm. Just thinking...... nothing come to my mind. Probably I can say they are very consistent and always trying hard to give you trouble and rip you off."
Cons: "I was on 3 day vacation booked to fly off at 7am from Sydney to reach Cairns at 10am and return after 2 days taking 7:15pm flight to reach Sydney around 10pm. This will be complete 3 days plan in Cairns. They delayed morning 7am flight by 4 hours. We went to the airport at 4am and sitting there till 11am. They did not even provide food coupon in spite of me approaching supervisor. Reached Cain at 3pm and by the time I picked my car and ready for sight seeing time is over and entire city is quite. We lost one day. Return fight at 7:45 cancelled and they moved us to 12 noon. We lost that day as well. Very bad baggage service."

Pros: "I was quite worried about using JetStar because of bad reviews I had read, but I had a very good experience with the airline. It was on time the staff was friendly and it was an easy boarding process. Better experience than flying the more expensive Virgin Australia"

Cons: "- They had poor food provisions for flight meals. By they time they had reached the middle section, only the vegetarian meal was available. You didn't have any choice (other than not eating a salad...) - The aircraft required some updates to its facilities. The chairs, audio jacks, and TV monitor weren't functioning properly at all for the 16 hour flight"

Cons: "The luggage issues for this airline can be complicated. It was difficult to tell from our online booking whether luggage was included (depends on your fare type). After considerable research we found that it wasn't. The price to add it, which you could do on line, was fair. However, when we found there were no lockers at the airport to store our extra baggage, we were almost hit with the outrageous rate of $15 per kilo for all the weight that we hadn't already contracted for. BE SURE you purchase the weight you need in advance or you will have major problems at the airport. They do have scales at check-in to weigh your stuff yourself in advance, and they didn't weight our carry on baggage. Customer service in Sydney wasn't very good. Staff seemed kinda cranky and unwilling to be very helpful."

Pros: "I thought the check-in desk team was excellent, helpful and very polite. The boarding process was very efficient, and the planes were very clean. The seats were very comfortable leather seats, with the amount of leg room you would expect."
Cons: "The onboard food options were underwhelming....Top Ramen cup of noodles was the only option from Sydney to Cairns, despite the options listed in the seat-back brochure. Also, Jetstar charges heavily for baggage, much more than I was used to on American carriers, so be sure to read the fine print and weigh your check-through and carry-on luggage carefully."
