Cons:I used to think of Thomas Cook as being one of the better quality UK airlines, but having not flown it for a while (Im now based in US and more frequently fly domestically), I was disappointed to see that it seems to have slipped into the easyjet/ryanair category of trying to squeeze every pound of its flyers while also being super conservative relative to most US airlines. Just a few of the annoyances included... - Does not recognize TAS Precheck - Overly strict on weight of hand luggage - Extortionate additional baggage charges - No ability to select seat at check-in (acknowledging reasonable to charge for advance seat selection, but should at least be able to select from whatever is left at check-in) - charging for water/tea/coffee with exception of final service before landing - extremely limited entertainment choices, and even the "premium" paid-for selection was very limited - most of the entertainment system content and magazines seems to primarily revolve around selling me stuff rather than facilitating an enjoyable flight - seats lacked any real headrest support r flexibility (particularly annoying for the night flight) - strictness of not allowing headsets during take off/landing (no US airline enforces this), resulting in an extremely boring and frustrating period of doing nothing during an hour-long take off delay - poor service in helping to advise on connections after late arrival (albeit acknowledge this may be more an airport issue) Inevitably many of these things will seem pedantic, but when taken in aggregate - the result was a disappointing experience that will make me reconsider using Thomas Cook or its affiliate carriers going forward.
