Cons: "Seats were still rather cramped for my poor husband, who is 6'3. It is very hard to get out of your seat if you're in a window and all the seats on front are fully reclined, and I am relatively spry! Can't imagine an elderly or debilitated person trying to do so! The in flight movies were great, but you had to use the headphones they provide, and none of the 3 pairs I tried worked well. All had constant static. Although the seats recline far, they also do it abruptly and are hard to get to come back up. The dinner (we had the beef) was not very good. The quality of the ground beef was what you would expect from a fast food place. The worst part of the flight was that the sat ALL the infants in the same area on the plane, and all right around us. 5 of them, to be exact. 17 hours of on and off screaming babies! My husband had to move to a different seat to get some sleep! Thankfully, I can sleep through anything. Overall, less terrible than I expected a 17 hour flight to be, but could have been better. Some crew were very nice and helpful and others not so much. The first woman my husband asked told him (rather abruptly) that he wouldn't be able to use his CPAP machine. Then a really nice guy helped him get it set up. The turbulence was a bit scary for me, and the way the captain would announce it didn't help! He'd just say "all passengers and crew be seated and fasted your seat belts" in a rather grim tone as the plane shook violently."

Most airlines charge per bag. This is the first time we have paid by weight. I certainly won’t travel Jetstar again! And they don’t even have free water on board."

In order to avoid the problem on the way back to Sydney, we prepaid the luggage for the return trip. When we got to the airport for the return, we were told that our luggage was overweight - this even though it was weighed on the way out and we left many things to a family member in Hobart and didn't add anything to bring back. The result was that in order to avoid additional luggage charges, we had to remove a couple of pairs of shoes and carry them in our carry-on's - a computer bag and pocketbook. The attendant was both adamant and discourteous when we tried to explain that we had paid ahead of time in good faith and had lightened our luggage in Sydney. I traveled the world for many years for business and this was among my top-ten worst experiences with any airline - I will never fly Jetstar again!"
Cons: "We showed up to the gate for the flight from Sydney to Tasmania, and found out that because our backpacks were over 7 kilograms, we'd have to pay $50 AUD on the spot to check them. We weren't the only ones who had no idea that was coming, and several people were dismayed to find out that had we checked them in online prior to arriving at the airport, it would've been about half that price. My backpack was barely 12 kilograms, and has never required checking on ANY flight prior to that, including small jumper flights. The person working at the gate was really short with everyone who was confused about the charge. On the return flight, in anticipation of having to check my bag again, I checked it in online ahead of time and paid the $27 AUD, only to arrive at the airport and find that they weren't weighing anyone's bags, so it was probably unnecessary. Not happy. They don't offer any complimentary drinks, even water, on the flights. It's like the Australian version of Spirit Airlines: a rip off."

Jetstar cheeses have animal rennet - not necessary in this day and age. Toastie could be cheese and tomato, not only with bacon.. I complained to Jetstar head office, and the response was inadequate. Proof is if they make an effort and change. If another airlines is similar price with better food, I would automatically go with the other carrier. It's all part of hospitality. Jetstar are stubborn. Irrespective of being a low cost airlines - no excuse."
