Movies stopped playing and then the whole system locked up. First it was just individual seats that had problems but eventually the entire plane was unable to view anything. Even a complete reboot did not help. We spent the last 6hrs of the flight unable to view anything even though they repeatedly tried to reset the system"

I had boasted to my fam that Quantas (was famous in my memory) as having economy seats that felt more like other airlines Business Seats. My kids were eager to experience the "Quantas" seats. I was severely dissapointed to find that your economy seats, now, are even smaller than the Chinese seats we regularly fly (we are in our 5th year of ex-pat assignment in China). You should have seen the look on my kids faces. Evidently, i must have "talked Quantas up too much", because there was a great deal of dissapointment. We will travel back to NZ and Aus., this fall, but will no longer prioritize Quantas as our airline of choise. I guess times change, and a little bit of nastalgia lost.... :("

They should have just allowed us since we know it's possible. We spent 14, 000NZ additional for that mistake."

Cons: "Why do they use QF flight number between Hobart and Sydney/Melbourne when it is operated by JETStar? As a customer I naturally expect I can get the same service from JETStar as Qantas.However I had to check out my heavy luggage at Sydney Airport, get a shuttle bus paying money and check in again at JETStar. The JETStar staff at the airport was not helpful at all! On the contrary she BLUNTLY told me JETStar is a different company from QANTAS. That's all. At Hobart Airport I was BLUNTLY told again I had to get my luggage at Melbourne Airport and check in again because they didn't have facility to forward the luggage to Qantas. I understand Qantas and JETStar are allied airlines and so they should give the same service as any other allied airlines. I need good explanation about these poor service from JETStar and Qantas. Thank you ."

An American agent said I had plenty of time to check a bag, beingnup until 45 minutes before and would not help me. When I got to the counter, it was 1 hour before and they said I was too late to check my bag and since I had a bag, they would not give me a boarding pass. They were awful to me and so unhelpful. I will never use this airline or a sister airline again."

Removed all of us from plane to rebook, a nightmare. Then proceeded to immediately reboard next flight of passengers on same plane to same destination and take off. Return flight booked all at once, Sydney to dallas to bwi. Sydney flight late, gave us special red easy pass envelope with boarding pass to connect to dallas-bwi flight. We had to wait for luggage, then in line for customs, and another line for re checking luggage, then walk to next gate and another security line, and flight left without us. Easy pass did nothing for us. Missed flight by 5 min. Gave us the impression when we got off sydney flight they were going to wait for us. Waited 45 min for luggage, 20 min for customs and 10 min for security. If we had any special treatment at any stage we would have made our connection. Worst experience with American Airlines ever."

Cons: "We missed our connecting flight and was put up in a cheap nasty hotel. This delay resulted in being redirected to LAX where we had to wait over 8 hours at the airport for our flight. When we finally landed in Sydney my wife's luggage was missing they discovered that it was left behind in Dallas. The airline later told me after I called back to check the status her bag did make it on a later flight only to discover that they were wrong. No bag as of yet, our entire vacation has been a disaster."

Cons: "I went to the counter to check in 1 hour before the flight (at around 6am), and the counter has already closed. The lady at the counter said that we had to check in at least 3 hours before the flight, which is a lie. I asked if there is anything she can help re-schedule, and she simple refused to help in anyway. I am very disappointed on the service of Quanta airline."

I had to wait around to for an hour before the counter opened and one could check bags the old way which meant I (& everyone else on the flight) had to stand around with luggage. If the auto machines are not working surely one desk could have been provided for luggage drop-off."

Cons: "The touch screen of my monitor barely worked. Aside from that, the jack for my audio was not working properly. Once I could finally watch a movie, the sound would cut off for a while. I'd have to do my darndest to rewind the movie, while trying to get the audio jack to work. It took a lot of work to get the movie to rewind, and then after it started, I couldn't get the touch screen to work for it to stop & play again. Sometimes it would rewind the movie 20-30 minutes before I could get it to play again. All very frustrating."

I had golf clubs and was told to wait at a desk were I stood for 10 mins while a woman looked at the computer, not looking up from it in the whole time. There was another lady checking clubs too, and you would thing it was the fist time they had ever had to check golf clubs into a flight; I assume that's not true."

Cons: "Why are all of the seats so close together? The Aussies are some of the tallest people I have ever met and yet the planes made to mainly transport Aussies have zero leg room for these giants. I stand at 5 feet tall and of course always have lots of leg room. Rarely do I get uncomfortable on planes.... But with the constant jostling from my rear neighbor I was unable to sleep, relax, and get comfortable."

Pros: "Have a pinched nerve that is causing loss of fine motor skills in my left hand a great pain. I am 6'5" and can't make myself any smaller. Despite informing a crew member of my medical condition, they made no effort to be careful when they came through the cabin. I thought sitting in the bulkhead right behind first class it would limit the traffic but the aisle was used heavily and with the first class aisle being more inline with my seat than the aisle for the rest of the plane, the attendants literally ran into me constantly causing me much pain."

Flew at midnight, arrived 6am instead of arrival at 10:10pm and an overnight stay in airport hotel which was paid for and no refund on cancellation. Had to pay extra taxi costs. Because of the 10hour delay, I had to get a taxi home due to there being no way to go home and await flight."

Cons: "Due to a storm that had passed in Samoa, my non-stop Monday flight was cancelled to Sydney, however they had a flight on Sunday night but only after considerable effort was I given a seat on that flight which went through Auckland with a horrible 7 hour wait in the early morning hours!!! Airport was cold no where to comfortably laydown....no lounges were open....and this flight was cheaper than the non-stop and I want a refund to that effect......they actually tried to suggest a flight over 5 days later!!! Where is the justification here? No even a beverage was offered!! Not very nice!!! Urima Matavao...."

And there was no announcement until regular boarding time. But the best part...I apid for a second bag. My first bag was first off the carousel in Sydney. I saw my second one 3 days later in Atlanta after having the Dona lot of work to track it down. And supposedly I'm getting a refund in the charges, but the message from Va made it clear they don't have to refund the money per the contract of carriage. I can deal with the bag not arriving, but I had to do a lot of work to get it back (and Delta was far more helpful than Virgin even though there was never a Delta tag on the bag). And the attitude that they are doing me a favor by refunding the charge has left a very bad impression."

The Delta employee at the gate was rude, unapproachable and unhelpful. She told me ai was lucky to get a seat. When my wife rang Virgin to find out why my paid, and confirmed flight did not entitle me to a seat allocation when I checked my bags, she was told it was Delta's fault. When she called Delta they informed her that the flight had been overbooked. All in all a very poor customer service from both Airlines."

Cons: "I tried to pay for an extra bag online the day before we boarded (using an iPad), and the website spit back that "my itinerary did not allow for prepaying for luggage" or something to the effect. So when I arrived at the airport I almost got charged $70 for a carry-on sized extra bag I had some souvenirs in. Not great. Thankfully the person checking me in had mercy when I told her my story and only ended up charging me the $35 online fee, but that was up to her discretion. I really would have been mad to be penalized for not buying ahead of time online when the website wouldn't let me do it."

When we got to the airport to drop our bags we were over what we had guestimated (who travels with a scale?). We had to pay another $75 because once the airport kiosk opens you can’t do an online purchase. On the previous flight we overpaid weight but they wouldn’t give us a refund . They are thieves. Most airlines charge per bag. This is the first time we have paid by weight. I certainly won’t travel Jetstar again! And they don’t even have free water on board."

When I landed they couldn't remove the bags because of a storm, so I had to wait extra time for bags I shouldn't have needed to check. They also charge exorbitantly for anything on the flights. I wanted a cup of water and they asked for 4 dollars for a mini bottle. If their rates were cheap this would have been understandable, but that's not the case."

Flight was delayed because of airplane maintenance but we got no compensation, just $10 Australian voucher to use at the airport to buy food."

Cons: "When I booked the flight, I saw no information on the luggage policy, so my partner and I were charged $100 at the airport for two bags. In order to avoid the problem on the way back to Sydney, we prepaid the luggage for the return trip. When we got to the airport for the return, we were told that our luggage was overweight - this even though it was weighed on the way out and we left many things to a family member in Hobart and didn't add anything to bring back. The result was that in order to avoid additional luggage charges, we had to remove a couple of pairs of shoes and carry them in our carry-on's - a computer bag and pocketbook. The attendant was both adamant and discourteous when we tried to explain that we had paid ahead of time in good faith and had lightened our luggage in Sydney. I traveled the world for many years for business and this was among my top-ten worst experiences with any airline - I will never fly Jetstar again!"

Cons: "We showed up to the gate for the flight from Sydney to Tasmania, and found out that because our backpacks were over 7 kilograms, we'd have to pay $50 AUD on the spot to check them. We weren't the only ones who had no idea that was coming, and several people were dismayed to find out that had we checked them in online prior to arriving at the airport, it would've been about half that price. My backpack was barely 12 kilograms, and has never required checking on ANY flight prior to that, including small jumper flights. The person working at the gate was really short with everyone who was confused about the charge. On the return flight, in anticipation of having to check my bag again, I checked it in online ahead of time and paid the $27 AUD, only to arrive at the airport and find that they weren't weighing anyone's bags, so it was probably unnecessary. Not happy. They don't offer any complimentary drinks, even water, on the flights. It's like the Australian version of Spirit Airlines: a rip off."

Pros: "Boarding was reasonable except that passengers were allowed to take too much carry on luggage which caused delays on boarding. Why not enforce the guideline. Food was terrible, a stale sandwich, however the voucher compensated somewhat. Service was good, the lady pills was very informative."

They also tagged my luggage to the wrong passenger and it was an ordeal to get it back once they found it. Talk about a security breach !! Never fly them again !!! Will be sending info to media!! Paid $320 for extra baggage fees coming from an Air Canada business flight ticket with carry-on - they didn't care!! Kelta at ck in only cared about charging us and when I told her to put the bags in my name she said don't tell me how to do my job I know - and then bag is in another person's name and he had to leave asap in Sydney and it was an ordeal to get report done!! They charge for coffee on board and flight attendants were also rude!! Where is the customer service? Terrible !!"

Cons: "One crew member in particulat chatted loudly for much of the flight - it was annoying. The same person was also unfriendly to passengers for some reason. A big overweight fellow with a piercing nasal voice. Also I was charged an extra $50 for a checked bag - seemed very unfair when if you google 'Jetstar cabin baggage allowance' it says 10 kg!"

Cons: "We ended up paying $450 for our bags! We had no idea baggage wasn't included and charged by the Kg! We should have known at that point that everything would be Nickle and dimed. We were on an international flight and yet NOTHING was included. They charged for Internet, tv, drinks, food even blankets needed to be pre-ordered and paid for ahead of time. Just awful!"

Cons: "Extremely disappointed in this airline. Got to the airport for my flight from Auckland to Sydney to discover my checked bag for my flight had been canceled on my ticket and then was forced to pay $116 USD to check one bag for a 3 hour flight because of a mistake made by THEIR system! When I asked if there was any other options I was told to make my bag lighter for carry on by abandoning some of my belongings or that I needed to pay the fee. None of the staff was willing to even check if there was any other option or to look into why my baggage allowance mysteriously disappeared off my ticket. God help anyone who can't afford to pay this ridiculous "airport baggage fee", they'll be left stranded. Jetstar is obviously more interested in profits than their customers. I will NEVER fly with this "airline" again!"

I liked that the Jetstar staff in Sydney helped me to get a room for the night, the hotel people were helpful and friendly, the shuttle bus drivers were helpful and friendly. I liked that Qantas helped me transfer my Jetstar cancelled flight to QF148, so I was able to fly Auck to SYD. I did like that Jetstar provided free in-flight entertainment to all passengers after the flight form SYD - DPS was dallied 3 hours on departure."
Cons: "I didn't like that my Jetstar flight was cancelled and I missed my connecting flight to Denpasar. I didn't like that I lost a whole day of my holiday due to the flight cancellation, I missed my pick up transfer from DPS airport to my hotel in Ubud late at night, and I was not refunded my night's booked accomodation at my Ubud hotel. I didn't like that I had to go through immigration, pick up my baggage in SYD before I could get to the Jetstar counter to connect with my flight to DPS. because of this delay I missed my connecting flight. I did not like that My one day delayed connecting flight from SYD to DPS was delayed a further 3 hours departing from Sydney."

Cons: "Take off was delayed. Beware, since this is the last flight of the day, there's very little room for delays arriving in Sydney as all flights must land at Sydney Airport by 10:30pm. We were lucky that we just made the cut off"

Cons: "Check-in staff at airport seemed overwhelmed, and unable to prioritize. We had to stand in multiple lines - first the kiosk line to check-in, where we got our boarding passes. BUT since we had not pre-checked luggage online, we had to stand in the VERY long regular check-in line to check-in (again) with baggage. Although I asked at the beginning if we could move ahead in line as our flight was boarding within the hour, they refused. So we got about halfway through the line before they called people on our flight to come to the front. Once we got our bags checked we had to go to the customer service line to actually pay the check-bag fee. another long line. Again I asked if we could go to the front because now our flight was boarding in 30 minutes. After initially suggesting that we would be fine, the attendant did help us get to the front of the line. But combining one line for people who have missed flights/need refunds,etc., with a line for people who just need to pay a fee and move on (so they don't also miss their flight) is just poor management. We did make our flight, and it all worked out fine, but overall really unimpressed by the experience."
