Pros: "Good entertainment, tasty food, easy boarding and disembarking"

Pros: "Good entertainment, tasty food, easy boarding and disembarking"
Cons: "nil"
Pros: "Crew was fine, seating was ok. Appreciated food and snacks, boarding - and disembarking- was handled super well."
Cons: "How do you enforce 'quiet time' when there are chatty children in the row in front and in back of you? Was constant distraction."
Cons: "on line check in more difficult than others"
Pros: "Boarding was efficient and the cabins were welll presented. Take off was on time."
Cons: "A very small glitch was the cabin service. The cabin announcements were read out too fast to follow! Also, the cabin crew seemed to be in a rush to move the food tray away even though I was still sipping my juice. Maybe this was the early morning energy ...Slow down, guys!"
Cons: "7 hrs late leaving, with postponements drip fed in 1 hr increments resulting in lots of hanging around and day completely wasted"
Pros: "Nothing paid a bomb and got nothing for it"
Cons: "Everything!! Never again will I be hoodwinked for the price of a standard seat"
Cons: "The flight was held up in Sydney airspace by traffic control causing a short but significant delay which was not recognised by Qantas even though they knew we were connecting to International."
Cons: "The airport closure wasn't PALs fault but the absolute lack of organisation and an attitude "act of God so look after yourself" is disgusting. Flying business expected some service but had nothing and they smiled and said they rebooked me 16 days later. Other airlines would book you on different carriers but not PAL. Last time no matter what special deal they offer."
Pros: "Quick!"
Cons: "We sprinted to make our connecting flight - bags didn't make it. Got woken up at 2am to collect them after a whole day traveling."
Pros: "Staff are always amazing"
Cons: "There were no headphones for in flight entertainment. Sure its only an hour long flight but still, some distraction from the turbulence would have been nice."
Pros: "Exit row seat. Lovely aircraft and cabin crew."
Pros: "Twice this trip, 2 qantas staff rectified our seating allocation so we could sit together as a family and i didn't even have to ask. The staff are always so pleasant and engaging."
Cons: "A mishap when allocating seats online, when i chose seats for us online (my fault i left it too late) there weren't any together...but the staff rectified this..."
Pros: "Friendly flight staff"
Cons: "Cramped conditions in economy but you get what you pay for"
Pros: "Flight was late 30 mins"
Pros: "Flight left on time, arrived 20 mins ahead of time. And great landing"
Pros: "All round great experience. All went to plan. A330-200 business class was just right for this short trip."
Pros: "Excellent service. Comfortable seats."
Cons: "Nothing comes to mind"
Cons: "No options for seat choose which totally rubbish don't like deal with Qantas in future"
Pros: "Speed of flight was excellent. Overheard storage was good."
Cons: "Seats impossible to sleep on as they don’t recline enough to stop head from falling forward. Wings on headrest too small."
Pros: "New business layout is more comfortable comfortable and private."
Pros: "There was an excellent selection of movies to choose from. Breakfast was actually pretty tasty, and snacks and water were offered quite frequently. The seat was reasonably comfortable, and reclines back a decent way. For how huge the plane was, the boarding process was super fast and efficient!"
Cons: "Seats were still rather cramped for my poor husband, who is 6'3. It is very hard to get out of your seat if you're in a window and all the seats on front are fully reclined, and I am relatively spry! Can't imagine an elderly or debilitated person trying to do so! The in flight movies were great, but you had to use the headphones they provide, and none of the 3 pairs I tried worked well. All had constant static. Although the seats recline far, they also do it abruptly and are hard to get to come back up. The dinner (we had the beef) was not very good. The quality of the ground beef was what you would expect from a fast food place. The worst part of the flight was that the sat ALL the infants in the same area on the plane, and all right around us. 5 of them, to be exact. 17 hours of on and off screaming babies! My husband had to move to a different seat to get some sleep! Thankfully, I can sleep through anything. Overall, less terrible than I expected a 17 hour flight to be, but could have been better. Some crew were very nice and helpful and others not so much. The first woman my husband asked told him (rather abruptly) that he wouldn't be able to use his CPAP machine. Then a really nice guy helped him get it set up. The turbulence was a bit scary for me, and the way the captain would announce it didn't help! He'd just say "all passengers and crew be seated and fasted your seat belts" in a rather grim tone as the plane shook violently."
Pros: "Ok"
Pros: "Looking out the window."
Cons: "Flight changed from an A330 to a B737 perhaps as Resukt if the public holiday"
Pros: "Our flight with qantas was fantastic. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Premium economy makes a difference on a 15 he flight."
Pros: "everything"
Cons: "when my bag got lost"
Pros: "Crew were affable and courteous, even if not very attentive."
Cons: "The entertainment system was ancient, with small screens, loose sockets for headphones, flaky performance. Only the content was decent (not good). They announce boarding sequence and then fail to honor/enforce it, allowing a free for all."
Pros: "Short flight . It's ok"
Cons: "Seat"
Pros: "The Staff were friendly during the whole flight. Seats were really comfortable and good movie and song choices. Boarding was fast."
Cons: "The headphones looked quite dirty so I used my own. The breakfast meal was bad, especially putting in a hash brown that just gets soggy."
Pros: "Service always great. Smooth lift off and landing. Just feels so safe. I trust Qantas 100%."
Pros: "All"
Cons: "I did not at all like the fact that the Qantas supplied headphones did not come with an adaptor to convert my pwn noise cancelling earphones to stereo sound."
Pros: "Everything was great about these flights, food and service included. We had a slight delay on our return flights but were updated along the way. Definitely recommend!"
Pros: "Almost 17h is a LOOOONG flight, so it could have been awful... Thankfully it was not crowded, though, so I had a centre row to myself! Actually managed to get more than 4h of sleep. Loved the SkyCam, especially since we followed the full moon all the way."
Pros: "The crew were really very good kind and could not have done more. I have crew members who are patients of mine and I know the stress they undergo and I wa actually very proud of the crew in my section of the aircraft"
Cons: "Not applicable"
Pros: "- The kindness of the crew members - The food - The entertaining aboard"
Pros: "Fog prevented the plane we where to fly out on from landing however planes from other airlines where landing. This lead to a 6 hour delay."
Pros: "I paid for an extra legroom seat - really makes a difference to getting some sleep on the two overnight legs of QF2, but you might want to bring your own blindfold and slippersocks as these are not provided in Economy."
Cons: "Gluten-free food in particular needn't be milk/lactose or meat free, and needn't be based around those gluten-free breads (Qantas GF bread was better than some others but still not great). There are good gluten free noodles, and most of the NORMAL meals would be find as long as gratuitous adding of wheat products to sauces was avoided (there is no excuse for soysauce or cornflour containing gluten - wheat and flour are additives that should not be present in ANY product that isn't specifically a wheat product). If the Asian meals, curry and rice, etc. were made with care they would be GF and many (Australian) restaurants offer GF variants of their meals. Still don't understand why they didn't give me real butter or real milk... Should have announced explicitly that we needed to pick up and clear and recheck baggage (on same tag) before our domestic flight."
Pros: "Food off the menu was excellent. Tummy wasn't feeling well so I liked having carb-free options. The Asian salad for dinner and fruit platter for brekkie went down well."
Cons: "Have always booked tickets and flown with my partner. Set alarm to check-in online exactly 24hrs prior to departure as usual and found my partner and I seated in different seats with no available seats to switch. How can this be on an aircraft this big? Thought we might be able to fix it at the counter next day, we headed to the airport early by 3hrs to sort it out. Maybe it was the end of a long day, our flight was close to midnight... Check-in lady was lovely and all smiles but it went downhill from here... No option to sit together and no offer of an upgrade at the counter or at boarding (we didn't ask). Duty-free collection instructions weren't clear prior to boarding ("board as you will and pick up after") and during boarding the staff member seemed over it ("pick up after boarding"). Wouldn't it be easier to advise over the PA so we don't have to ask or if we have to ask explain something along the lines of "you can collect your duty free from the cart after you scan you ticket, prior to boarding the aircraft". The worst part of our experience was the aircraft itself. The plane was obviously very old and tired. My partner's seat kept reclining and wouldn't stay upright (we didn't complain). Rows were so close together that you could smell the person in front's hair when they reclined their chair fully (which they did for the entirety of the flight) and your eyes feel cross-eyed it was so close. The entertainment system was old - we couldn't choose when to watch our movies and as movies aren't the same duration we missed out on a lot of the movies we did want to watch. Finally the selection of movies could've made up for this downfall but it was incredibly limited in selection for a long haul flight. Not sure if it was us but the flight crew also seemed tired and over it too. Luckily we had sleeping pills so we slept through much of the flight but what we did experience wasn't good at all. V disappointed."
Pros: "Staff."
Cons: "Seats. Far too cramped, I am 188cm and cannot sit without being jammed up to the seat in front. This sucks when you are young worse when 60+"
Cons: "I'm a qantas frequent flyer and have always been loyal. But next trip, I will try a different carrier (Etihad, Emirates even Singapore). Standards have slipped, customer care is lacking. I heard this from people I was sitting with as well, so not just my opinion."
Pros: "The food was great along with the movies. Everything went smoothly and made it home no problems."
Pros: "fewer rows of seats in my section upstairs quiet - no children darkness for the overnight flight"
Cons: "would have preferred more foreign movies - with English subtitles - for the more discerning movie watcher - most movies were populist rubbish"
Pros: "offer every passenger a iPad mini"
Cons: "Poor landing, not confortable from decending to touch down"
Pros: "entertainment"
Cons: "crew were nasty Ran down aisle with without stopping I had to call her back twice"
Cons: "Why do they use QF flight number between Hobart and Sydney/Melbourne when it is operated by JETStar? As a customer I naturally expect I can get the same service from JETStar as Qantas. However I had to check out my heavy luggage at Sydney Airport, get a shuttle bus paying money and check in again at JETStar. The JETStar staff at the airport was not helpful at all! On the contrary she BLUNTLY told me JETStar is a different company from QANTAS. That's all. At Hobart Airport I was BLUNTLY told again I had to get my luggage at Melbourne Airport and check in again because they didn't have facility to forward the luggage to Qantas. I understand Qantas and JETStar are allied airlines and so they should give the same service as any other allied airlines. I need good explanation about these poor service from JETStar and Qantas. Thank you ."
Pros: "Poor food. Not as good as domestic."
Cons: "Helpful and aware."
Pros: "This was an Emirates flight. Codeshare means you get attentive staff and decent food. Always happy to be on a Qantas codeshare partner instead of the Qantas planes. The gap from Emirates back to Qantas is vast."
Pros: "The flight was great had a smooth transition from plane to terminal"
Cons: "Food was very ordinary"
Cons: "The headphone jack in my seat was broken - the crew gave me a new headset, but it didn't do anything. It was difficult to get them to take me seriously. Also, fix the website. This is the second time I have not been able to book my seat correctly."
Pros: "Movie selection pretty good"
Cons: "Terminal at LAX only allowed use of Admiral Club not Qantas lounge LAX international. 5 hr layover. No food. Poor facilities. 2 drink voucher. Not up to Qantas standard by a long shot. More importantly seats economy on American Airlines flight fro LAX to SYD very narrow and incredibly uncomfortable. Unable to rest comfortably to any degree or be able to have a meal when seat in front reclined and i am not a big guy. I fly often for work and also pay for Qantas club but this experience is making me think very differently about booking flights according to what the codeshare airline is. Dissapointed and not what I expect the standard of a Qantas codeshare airline to be."
Pros: "The Qantas service is generally good, and they do acknowledge Platinum members. Also the boarding delay was well advised."
Cons: "More the Dubai airport side, and the fact that the loung boarding arrangements are not intuitive."
Pros: "Crew member Camilla was very good with infant & mom seated in front of us, giving personal and specific emergency instructions before takeoff"
Cons: "Typical coach seats but that’s what we paid for"
Pros: "Crew very very slow serving meal."
Cons: "Computer system crashed. Not enough agents working at check in. We waited in line 1 hour just to drop off bags. Very frustrating."
Pros: "Leg room"
Cons: "Delayed almost an hour. Landed and had to wait in another queue to get off the plane. Been waiting 15 minutes on the runway. This is really ruining the only holiday weekend I get for months."
Pros: "Efficient flight"
Cons: "Surly check in staff."
Pros: "Lovely friendly staff"
Cons: "Flight delayed"
Pros: "Melbourne has got self check in and bag drop working well....Sydney, take note and passengers be ready for it. That said the ground crew are there to help, but read the signs and don't get cranky if you hey sent back to do what you're meant to. On board, the cheese and cracker snack pack I got was great, nice to see complimentary snacks and drinks being maintained. Onboatd wifi via the app worked well and was actually able to use inflight entertainment on hand held device online the Sydney to Melbourne leg"
Cons: "It was a full flight but there was too much cabin luggage. Ppl had oversized bags and too much of it. Get stricter with the measurements would be my suggestion."
Pros: "Economy X was excellent value for getting 3 seats between 2, best I've ever slept in economy. Plane was late arriving before departure so boarding was late but we did leave and arrive on time. As I had an upset stomach the crew were nice enough to give me extra crackers and it was no hassle getting me herbal tea."
Cons: "Would be nice to have onboard entertainment included"
Pros: "Entertainment"
Cons: "Row 10 seats were extremely cramped. Seemed worse than usual. Was placed in middle seat and was unable to even read a magazine. Hostess saw how cramped I was and commented that I should purchase a x class fare, Perhaps virgin should ensure they supply adequate basic seating"
Cons: "In flight entertainment screens would not work properly"
Pros: "Leg room was great as we had exit row"
Cons: "Body odour of one of the male cabin crew"
Cons: "Small seats"
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "Food VERY basic SErvice just OK"
Cons: "We still in Auckland as without any notification airline staff has cancelled our ticket and we had so much drama at the airport and we couldn’t catch the flight and we had to come back home please explain why this is happened? Contact email- priyanka27.patel@gmail.com"
Pros: "Code share with Singapore Airlines made this a fantastic flight from start to finish. Other airlines have much to learn from SIngapore Airlines"
Pros: "Flight on time and all that is expected for a short flight."
Cons: "Automatic ticketing for the baggage drop was not working and signed as such by the airport staff (i.e. so they were aware of the malfunction). I had to wait around to for an hour before the counter opened and one could check bags the old way which meant I (& everyone else on the flight) had to stand around with luggage. If the auto machines are not working surely one desk could have been provided for luggage drop-off."
Pros: "My Mum has mild dementia and was going to Sydney from Maroochydore to visit family. From check in at MCY to arrival back at MCY the staff looked after her very well. She needed assistance boarding and disembarking and they were very helpful and courteous and that's why I choose Virgin over the other airline that flies the same route."
Pros: "Courteous staff, comfortable seats, fast boarding. And one free bag."
Cons: "Snack wasn't very good, but that is a minor problem"
Pros: "arrived on time crew were polite and friendly."
Cons: "when boarding the plane from rear maybe passengers in the front should board first to save the mayhem."
Pros: "The lumbar support in the Virgin seat makes all the difference, plus the info re toilets, either get up now or wait till food service stops, and the instruction to put seat in upright position for eating much appreciated. I also LOVED the unexpected brilliant in-house video of psychology. Dr Andrew Ley(?) Food was great, nothing ridiculous, hot tasty and healthy. I liked there was no over packaging that took up my tray table room. Jetstar is a torture chamber with those seats that cause your back to curl over."
Cons: "All was good"
Pros: "nice aircraft. hosts were promt to address any issue."
Cons: "lack of movie options especially hindi movies"
Cons: "The boarding had not started at the time due 22:25, I went to the rest room and on return the gate was closed for boarding. Staff advised they had commenced removing my luggage from the plane. The plane was still there but they would not let me board.! There was no call or final call or even a personal call with my name., staff said they were not required to do that. Then after pleading with no result, I requested my baggage. Staff sent me to baggage claim 2. There was no baggage, and by that time no Virgin Australia staff in the airport until 3pm the following day. I was stuck in a foreign airport, no luggage, no assistance at all from Virgin Australia to get my luggage, find accommodation, rebook a flight which resultingly cost US$900. I was distraught, the plane was still there and my luggage had not yet been removed and they refused me to board the flight!! The Virgin guy in charge was obnoxious and could not have cared less about my welfare, he personally accused me of swearing and I calmly reminded him I had not once used derogitorive language, that language was from another customer who was also refused to board. I question W that the flight was overbooked? This is not the airline Sir Richard Branson whom I have briefly met in Cairns airport promotes. Pitiful service.!!"
Cons: "I don’t think it’s acceptable to not give any food on a 6 hour flight. Also to pay for food we need to wait for the cart. I sat hungry for awhile."
Pros: "A cold drink just when I needed it. Thank you"
Cons: "I got to Sydney from LA at 10am on a Thursday after my flight was delayed by over an hour because of catering issues. I brought a carryon luggage with me but was forced to check it because it was overweight. That's totally fine. When I went to baggage claim after the flight, my luggage was no where to be found. I went to the help desk and was told they have no idea where my bag was. They asked for my contact info and was told to wait for a call. I continuously called to check the status and it was still not located. Finally I heard from them Saturday morning and I got my bag delivered on Saturday at 8pm. I had to leave for my flight at 6am Sunday. I had no clothes and wasted so much time and money shopping for necessities. Very unhappy about."
Pros: "Flight was delayed for 2 and a half hours. Ground staff were rude and dismissive and just huddled together to chat to each other and joke."
Cons: "Ground service - once airborne it was ok"
Pros: "All"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Economy X is fantastic, and really enjoy the boarding experience and the crew. left on time and arrived early. Excellent trip in that regard."
Cons: "Almost every time I travel on virgin, which is a lot. They serve a minim muesli bar. Come on Virgin what about changing that a bit. Qantas offer some really good options for not much more of a ticket price. This part of the Virgin Experience needs to change."
Cons: "Boarding was delayed without any explanation, and the staff member at the boarding desk was extremely rude when anyone dared approach her to ask what the hold-up was"
Cons: "Delayed."
Pros: "Impeccable and attentive service More spacious seats"
Cons: "Crying babies during the entire flight, not that the flight could help it but wish there were more quiet areas for passengers without families"
Cons: "Breakfast "cafe style" was just soggy bread. Not edible. The interface on the inflight screen is very, very fiddly....many, many touches required to get your show as it kept defaulting to the show under the next arrow."
Pros: "the plane was only half full so we got to take up a whole row for each of my four family members, it was such a treat. we had travelled from bali in the early hours of the morning and spent some time hanging around darwin airport so we were very tired the extra room was very much appreciated. free light meal was also a nice touch and the free entertainment app was a bonus.."
Cons: "nothing."
Pros: "I found my experience with Virgin very good. I don't fly too often. I am over 70 and found both the ground staff and on board so courteous and helpful. Would fly again with them. Take off and landings were so gentle which is something I fear, but they have inspired me to "take-off" and enjoy my life."
Pros: "Simplicity"
Cons: "Nothing really"
Pros: "Boarding was good"
Cons: "Checking in was unfriendly"
Pros: "I liked everything but my chair was very uncomfortable but otherwise everything was great the staff were really good too"
Cons: "Uncomfortable chair"
Pros: "Kept us informed of progress, snacks and drinks, upgrade to extra legroom at no charge"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Easy check-in, on-time arrival"
Cons: "The snacks are very boring."
Pros: "It was the usual type of flight, no dramas, lovely crew, and fair price."
Pros: "Service"
Cons: "Vegetarian option and hot food very important especially for elderly people."
Pros: "On time departure"
Cons: "Beef dish was mainly rice with insufficient meat or gravy to flavour the rice and there were no vegetables. Entertainment selection was of little choice with documentaries that were not only unsuitable for children but in my opinion unsatisfactory for adults."
Pros: "I was very pleased and will continue to book with you."
Cons: "The PRICE!!!! with my favourite airline"
Pros: "I could stay in Sydney."
Cons: "Poor communication"
Pros: "Great flight, average food."
Pros: "Boarded and departed on time. Good smooth flight."
Cons: "No window at seating. Disappointing for child traveller"
Pros: "the crew inside the plane"
Cons: "the supervisor in Darwin... no empathy, assumed I was lying due to the fact that some idiot in the call centre didn't put something in the history, indicated that I must be dumb since I should know better (BTW I am quoting verbatim) .. WOULD NOT GIVE ME A MANAGERS NAME IN ORDER FOR ME TO SPEAK TO THEM"
Pros: "The staff at Tamworth were helpful and pleasant."
Cons: "Our flight No VA1092 Tamworth to Sydney on 5/6/16 was cancelled due to mechanical failure . My cousin Marilyn McCarthy and myself Rosemary Roworth missed our Aunties Funeral. Had the flight gone ahead there was no record of Marilyns ticket anyway and I paid for two . I was offered a credit for my ticket and I would like one Marilyns ticket ."
Cons: "staff member on microphone spoke too quickly to understand clearly"

No entertainment at all and any food or drinks had to be ordered and paid for...crew was ok as they looked more worried about Covid rules and restrictions instead of the well being of myself as a passenger...

Cons: "Food/drinks"
Pros: "Value for money flight."
Cons: "Flight running late causing ongoing difficulties later in the evening. Flight crew could have been more aware and in control of rowdy, annoying passengers causing difficulties for others."
Pros: "Good value flight."
Cons: "Flight was delayed and then put into stack in Sydney - but given the Sydney weather over the weekend maybe that was to be expected. Flight crew could be more aware of annoying teenagers and others being disruptive in the cabin and painful for other passengers."
Cons: "The attitude of the crew towards passengers with children. They made us wake up our sleeping child because she was on a blow up cushion that obstructed her leg space. Even though we explained it could be deflated in a single second and was not causing harm to anyone else they still made us move it. Also, they gave us a guilt trip for changing a peepee diaper in our seat (careful not to touch any seats) and wouldn't take the trash. As any parents knows, changing a diaper in an airline bathroom is one of the most unsanitary and awful things you can do with your young child due to the extreme lack of space. Airlines in general should make a "family bathroom" with more space for parents to change their kids."
Pros: "Last flight of the evening with all perishable meals at half price."
Pros: "Boarding from back and front of plane. Crew was nice."
Cons: "Booked from the US and didn't realize it was a no frills airline that charges for seat selection in advance then once at the airport they weigh your carryon. If it's over 7.9kgs then you pay extra. Once on b p ard you pay for ANY refreshments."
Pros: "I liked the organisation"
Cons: "The food"
Cons: "I have put past a lot of things that jetstar airlines have done in the past, including the 140$ that I had to pay to change and pay to rebook or pay to cancel and there were no given supports with credits, so I ended up abandoning the flight altogether losing the money. I flew jetstar from Sydney to Sunshine Coast with my backpack a personal bag and a tote bag. I had previously paid 20$ for checked luggage. Making my total for the flight 80$ no one asked to weigh my bags or questioned them. Making the 20$ extra just disappear? . They did make me throw out my beverage upon entered the aircraft that I just purchased, I would assume because it’s a ‘safety issue’ even though the airline does not give complimentary anything so I’m assuming it’s mostly competition of sales. In Gold Coast I checked my bags through security got to the gate and they had a trolly weighing bags. They asked me if I was traveling with someone else which I replied with a no. They then weighed my backpack saying it was 7kgs and I had to come with them to the front. So my backpack personal item and tote bag was too much all of a sudden. I offered to give up the tote bag which then turned the situation into that all of my bags were over weight and it was going to charge me 60$ for my 7kg backpack. I said 60$ was expensive and I paid 20$ last time for my checked bags on the way here that I hadn’t used and he said too bad. Meanwhile the majority of people boarding past me had had rolling luggage and an additional bag or a personal item and when I said something to the employee he told me I’m wrong and they were all weighed and it’s 60$ for my belongings to be checked and put under the plane? Because 60$ somehow made the weight of the flight more light? Horrible customer service. I didn’t get I’m sorry any compassion I got what are you paying with? I paid 60$ or miss my flight. 60$ could have given me one more flight. Also to mention the flight was not even completely full so what did that 60$ accomplish? Awful awful awful . So in the future I suppose I’m just going to donate 20$ regardless if I have checked luggage or not because paying for everything is the only consistent thing on jetstar. On the positive side they let me jump the line after I paid 60$ for my “overweight luggage” and I got to my assigned seat more quickly."
Cons: "The charges for the checked baggage. They are very steep."
Pros: "price"
Cons: "late flight inedible noodles staff with too much attitude"
Cons: "The cost of a Checked bag was ridiculously high...very unreasonable! ....lots of unexpected fees for everything"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "I paid $75 for checked baggage when I checked in on line. I had to guess the weight of our bags. When we got to the airport to drop our bags we were over what we had guestimated (who travels with a scale?). We had to pay another $75 because once the airport kiosk opens you can’t do an online purchase. On the previous flight we overpaid weight but they wouldn’t give us a refund . They are thieves. Most airlines charge per bag. This is the first time we have paid by weight. I certainly won’t travel Jetstar again! And they don’t even have free water on board."
Pros: "The Steweys were great!!"
Pros: "Friendliness of the staff."
Cons: "Lateness of flight"
Cons: "On time depature and cheerful but firm crew"
Pros: "Great staff"
Cons: "Delayed departure"
Pros: "It wasn't cancelled like previous flight. It arrived and departed o time . No inflight entertainment at all."
Cons: "The cramping was incredible. No storage , people's bag from seat behind encroaching on foot space in front. Knees in my back from behind passenger. Seat design exceptionally upright, no head rest wings to support a dosing head. Torture chamber really."
Cons: "The entire experience"
Pros: "Not much about anything. The only good thing was the traveller assist counter as check in and bag drop was a nightmare. There we found out about baggage limits and having to pay for bag check. What a rip off. Luckily, we didn't pay for "special seating" as it was all the same."
Cons: "You can't even get a FREE cup of water!"
Pros: "Great crew that were all very friendly, Water was provided for free"
Cons: "Meals are not provided and drinks other than water will cost you My luggage was not automatically transferred into the connecting flight"
Cons: "Jetstar's luggage policy is a scame. Their carry on allowance is very small and I was charged 60 dollars to check a bag I never have to check at the fair. When I landed they couldn't remove the bags because of a storm, so I had to wait extra time for bags I shouldn't have needed to check. They also charge exorbitantly for anything on the flights. I wanted a cup of water and they asked for 4 dollars for a mini bottle. If their rates were cheap this would have been understandable, but that's not the case."
Pros: "Quick and easy, just as expected, staff professional and. Friendly"
Pros: "because I fly a lot in the US, I actually thought there was more space on the planes than we usually have here. I also don't mind not having food for free since we don't usually either. beverages would be nice, but since we were able to bring our own through security in Australia, it didn't bother me. Compared to most airlines in the US, it was great. Much more efficient as well. Even though we had to pay extra for luggage, there was tiered pricing by weight and it was still cheaper than most carriers in the US."
Pros: "No issue. Staff friendly"
Cons: "More onboard entertainment required"
Pros: "kylie the ground staff for Jetstar was brilliant"
Pros: "Flight left on time and arrived on time. My travel companion and I were seated next to each other."
Cons: "I was not able to purchase baggage during the booking process even though the customer service rep told me that at-purchase is the cheapest time to purchase baggage. There was literally no option to purchase it during my purchase process (I scrutinized every step of the process since I had been burned re baggage prices on my previous JetStar flight). I paid more for baggage on this flight than the previous flight even tho I paid for a lower amount of kilos. I decided to drive for the next of my flags instead of fly Jetstar again. Over it."
Pros: "The planes were clean."
Cons: "When we purchasing tickets through Kayak we were not informed that we would have to pay $25 per kilogram on our checked bags. These bags are normally roller wheel carry-ons, but we were not allowed to carry them on. The cost was $640! We were told only when we got to the counter (there are no electronic tickets or electronic check in.) we received a 'discount' and had to pay $360. The jet star agent admitted that she gets multiple complaints DAILY about these fees. Jet Star scams its customers. The reviews are poor precisely because of this. Avoid this airline."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Paid for Qantas, but got Jetstar, which is at best deceptive and at worse bait and switch. The crew member weighing our carry ons and purses was snotty and bitterly sarcastic. Honestly I don't know how he got a customer-facing position when his best response is "you should know better" when we mentioned that we were under the impression that the carry on baggage limit didn't include purses. We didn't get food, and entertainment was nonexistent (which is why we went with what we thought was Quantas). Added to the long line for Jetstar bag drop and the uncomfortable airplane, I'll never fly Jetstar again. Furthermore, Quantas should seriously consider whether lying to its customers is a good strategy."
Cons: "Seat. Slow boarding"
Pros: "Very orderly boarding with pleasant flight cree"
Cons: "Surprised at lack of complimentary drinks but not a big drawback with a short flight."
Pros: "The flight was on time."
Cons: "When I booked the flight, I saw no information on the luggage policy, so my partner and I were charged $100 at the airport for two bags. In order to avoid the problem on the way back to Sydney, we prepaid the luggage for the return trip. When we got to the airport for the return, we were told that our luggage was overweight - this even though it was weighed on the way out and we left many things to a family member in Hobart and didn't add anything to bring back. The result was that in order to avoid additional luggage charges, we had to remove a couple of pairs of shoes and carry them in our carry-on's - a computer bag and pocketbook. The attendant was both adamant and discourteous when we tried to explain that we had paid ahead of time in good faith and had lightened our luggage in Sydney. I traveled the world for many years for business and this was among my top-ten worst experiences with any airline - I will never fly Jetstar again!"
Cons: "We showed up to the gate for the flight from Sydney to Tasmania, and found out that because our backpacks were over 7 kilograms, we'd have to pay $50 AUD on the spot to check them. We weren't the only ones who had no idea that was coming, and several people were dismayed to find out that had we checked them in online prior to arriving at the airport, it would've been about half that price. My backpack was barely 12 kilograms, and has never required checking on ANY flight prior to that, including small jumper flights. The person working at the gate was really short with everyone who was confused about the charge. On the return flight, in anticipation of having to check my bag again, I checked it in online ahead of time and paid the $27 AUD, only to arrive at the airport and find that they weren't weighing anyone's bags, so it was probably unnecessary. Not happy. They don't offer any complimentary drinks, even water, on the flights. It's like the Australian version of Spirit Airlines: a rip off."
Pros: "Boarding was reasonable except that passengers were allowed to take too much carry on luggage which caused delays on boarding. Why not enforce the guideline. Food was terrible, a stale sandwich, however the voucher compensated somewhat. Service was good, the lady pills was very informative."
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "California"
Cons: "Do not checkin well in advance of the flight. They assign seats from the back of the cabin. The later the checkin the further forward your seats will be."
Cons: "Ordered food online. Would be better just buying when on flight. Egg sandwich both flights. No choice."
Pros: "Nothing in particular"
Cons: "Leg space was simply non existent, did not manage to squeeze in without sitting competely sideways..."
Pros: "Staff was friendly and helpful when I had a problem."
Cons: "We booked through Kayak and weren't told that when you book a flight with Jetstar, you get NO BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE. ZERO, ZIP, NIL. We didn't know this and assumed like other Australian and New Zealand carriers, we would each get one free bag, so I went online and paid $25 for a third bag. When we checked in for a domestic flight, we were told that we would have to pay $400 to send our luggage with us. THAT WAS MORE THAN WE PAID FOR OUR SEATS! We were also told that had we paid for our luggage ahead of time, it would have only been $60. Be very careful if you fly this airline. Make sure you know what is and what is not included with your ticket, especially if you use a third party to purchase your tickets. PS - All drinks (including coffee, tea, soda, etc.)are extra. Frankly, I'm surprised they don't charge for using the toilet in flight"
Cons: "On time"
Pros: "Everything. Great customer service"
Pros: "The cost of the flight couldn't be beat. And aside from the last minute change in flights due to a cancelled flight the actual flights and flight crew on both flight were excellent."
Cons: "Having my original direct flight cancelled and being rebooked with a stop before Sydney. Caused issues with having to go through customs then to recheck bags and transfer from an international terminal to a domestic terminal with a very minimal amount of time afforded between connections especially since the 1st leg landed late. The only compensation was a $50 discount on another flight which in all honesty is no compensation at all since I don't fly to Australia on a regular basis so not likely to be flying with Jetstar over the next 3 months. A comp meal would have been more appreciated for the disruption in my flight plans that caused me to get into my destination later then planned."
Pros: "I liked how easy it was to check in, the pleasantness of the crew, and the entertainment that was provided (should you purchase it)."
Cons: "I didn't like how people just rushed to get in front of the line and didn't wait for their row numbers to be called when boarding the plane. I understand that everyone wants the overhead compartment space, but it was just rude. Also, it is frustrating that the airline will nickel and dime you for everything. My suggestion is to make you sure you buy the Kilograms for your luggage before you get to the airport (if you are checking luggage in) or else you are going to be paying a hefty price to check your bags. Also you are only allowed 7 Kgs (15 lbs) for carry on luggage...if you go over that you will be charged. The seats were comfortable, but way too close together."
Pros: "The comfort is like any other economy flight."
Cons: "Did not realise it was so bare bone economy that they did not even serve water for free"
Pros: "I thought that the Captain dealt with the potential issue with the toilet in a very diplomatic manner and deserves an award for not breaking out in laughter. The crew were professional but also very friendly and cheerful."
Cons: "Nothing. Credit where credit is due."
Pros: "The flight took off on time. Checking in was quick and easy and I received both boarding passes for my trip."
Cons: "My original flight was cancelled and I had to stay a day longer in Bali at my own expense to get a flight from DPS to Melbourne to Auckland. Because I had to change flights I did not receive my meal or entertainment which I had pre-paid when I booked. When the plane landed in Melbourne we had to wait for 40 mins to be let off the plane. People said there were prisoners on the flight that had to be de-planed first. Because of this delay I missed my connection to Auckland. I had to wait another 3 hours (midnight - 3.00am) for the next flight."
Pros: "I liked that Jetstar communicated with me and kept me informed about what was happening with my flights. I liked that the Jetstar staff in Sydney helped me to get a room for the night, the hotel people were helpful and friendly, the shuttle bus drivers were helpful and friendly. I liked that Qantas helped me transfer my Jetstar cancelled flight to QF148, so I was able to fly Auck to SYD. I did like that Jetstar provided free in-flight entertainment to all passengers after the flight form SYD - DPS was dallied 3 hours on departure."
Cons: "I didn't like that my Jetstar flight was cancelled and I missed my connecting flight to Denpasar. I didn't like that I lost a whole day of my holiday due to the flight cancellation, I missed my pick up transfer from DPS airport to my hotel in Ubud late at night, and I was not refunded my night's booked accomodation at my Ubud hotel. I didn't like that I had to go through immigration, pick up my baggage in SYD before I could get to the Jetstar counter to connect with my flight to DPS. because of this delay I missed my connecting flight. I did not like that My one day delayed connecting flight from SYD to DPS was delayed a further 3 hours departing from Sydney."
Cons: "Take off was delayed. Beware, since this is the last flight of the day, there's very little room for delays arriving in Sydney as all flights must land at Sydney Airport by 10:30pm. We were lucky that we just made the cut off"
Pros: "Crew were friendly and cheerful."
Cons: "Crew were not aware I had a starter plus package which included a food voucher. This often happens with Jetstar and is annoying when you have paid for the extras. Also flight was delayed and I had to make a connecting flight. Would have been good if crew ensured people did not straggle when boarding with the appropriate announcements."
Pros: "Crew & Air craft was good"
Cons: "Delayed flight"
