If the auto machines are not working surely one desk could have been provided for luggage drop-off."
Pros: "My Mum has mild dementia and was going to Sydney from Maroochydore to visit family. From check in at MCY to arrival back at MCY the staff looked after her very well. She needed assistance boarding and disembarking and they were very helpful and courteous and that's why I choose Virgin over the other airline that flies the same route."

I also LOVED the unexpected brilliant in-house video of psychology. Dr Andrew Ley(?) Food was great, nothing ridiculous, hot tasty and healthy. I liked there was no over packaging that took up my tray table room. Jetstar is a torture chamber with those seats that cause your back to curl over."

The flight attendant told me they don't usually give out headphones on my particular flight, however 15 minutes into the flight she walked past and had a pair for me to use. When we got to the airport to drop our bags we were over what we had guestimated (who travels with a scale?). We had to pay another $75 because once the airport kiosk opens you can’t do an online purchase. On the previous flight we overpaid weight but they wouldn’t give us a refund . They are thieves. Most airlines charge per bag. This is the first time we have paid by weight. I certainly won’t travel Jetstar again! And they don’t even have free water on board."

Cons: "Jetstar's luggage policy is a scame. Their carry on allowance is very small and I was charged 60 dollars to check a bag I never have to check at the fair. When I landed they couldn't remove the bags because of a storm, so I had to wait extra time for bags I shouldn't have needed to check. They also charge exorbitantly for anything on the flights. I wanted a cup of water and they asked for 4 dollars for a mini bottle. If their rates were cheap this would have been understandable, but that's not the case."

Apparently no consideration for cultural respect and saving face. I felt very badly for the lady affected. Hand luggage checks should apply to all or nobody - random checks are nothing but a price gouge. If you're going to do it, at least give a voucher of some sort or some kind of incentive to choose jeststar again. Extremely poorly thought out procedure."

Pros: "Jetstar is a comparatively budget airline owned by Qantas. We were in Business class from Honolulu to Sydney and that's a well timed flight considering it takes a little over 10 hours, leaving Honolulu at 8:30am and arriving in Sydney at 3:00pm. We normally fly Qantas business for international flights but in this case it's almost double the cost. Jetstar Business doesn't have lie flat beds, it provides wide and comfortable seats and they don't recline very far, but as this particular flight is completely in daylight hours it doesn't matter too much. We will always choose this particular flight because of the combination of timing and cost, so well done Jetstar."

Then outbound flight was cancelled at the last minute. Waiting for a refund........and waiting. If it's a choice between jet star or swimming to your next destination, swim."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled at the last minute. Jetstar doesn't have a customer service line you can call so it was very difficult to re-book. The chat was clunky and not compatable with mobile phone. Then they couldn't refund the extra fees I had paid for assigned seats - that is a "different chat site" though I was reassigned a Quantas ticket and given tickets that had us split up on that flight. They couldn't give me a booking number or anything like that for the Quantas flight either. I will just save the hassle and fly with Quantas next time. Unimpressed with JetStar and their customer service was terrible. Still out the refund money and frankly it is worth it not to have to deal with them again."
Cons: "Had a misunderstanding with a visa waiver for my girlfriend who's is English. The particular hostess that brought it to our attention was quite dull and sour with the whole situation. After about 15 minutes of basically saying she couldn't board the flight, another jet star person came over and quickly ingot Ed us that we could purchase a visa waiver on the spot for 750 baht. Problem solved and his mannerism were far more bright and cheerful. A smile goes a long way"

Cons: "When I booked the flight, I saw no information on the luggage policy, so my partner and I were charged $100 at the airport for two bags. In order to avoid the problem on the way back to Sydney, we prepaid the luggage for the return trip. When we got to the airport for the return, we were told that our luggage was overweight - this even though it was weighed on the way out and we left many things to a family member in Hobart and didn't add anything to bring back. The result was that in order to avoid additional luggage charges, we had to remove a couple of pairs of shoes and carry them in our carry-on's - a computer bag and pocketbook. The attendant was both adamant and discourteous when we tried to explain that we had paid ahead of time in good faith and had lightened our luggage in Sydney. I traveled the world for many years for business and this was among my top-ten worst experiences with any airline - I will never fly Jetstar again!"
Cons: "We showed up to the gate for the flight from Sydney to Tasmania, and found out that because our backpacks were over 7 kilograms, we'd have to pay $50 AUD on the spot to check them. We weren't the only ones who had no idea that was coming, and several people were dismayed to find out that had we checked them in online prior to arriving at the airport, it would've been about half that price. My backpack was barely 12 kilograms, and has never required checking on ANY flight prior to that, including small jumper flights. The person working at the gate was really short with everyone who was confused about the charge. On the return flight, in anticipation of having to check my bag again, I checked it in online ahead of time and paid the $27 AUD, only to arrive at the airport and find that they weren't weighing anyone's bags, so it was probably unnecessary. Not happy. They don't offer any complimentary drinks, even water, on the flights. It's like the Australian version of Spirit Airlines: a rip off."
