Get a front row seat, last on, first off, don’t spend time, in a crowded airplane, during boarding times, wait until everyone is seated.
AndreaFlew with Virgin Australia-July 2026
Arrive 1 hour prior for a seamless experience. Especially if you only have carry on.
Verified travelerFlew with Jetstar-Aug 2026
Yulara is trickier with respect to carry on items - never had to remove my watch and all devices/ cords bigger than an iPhone before. This includes my camera as well so had to reorganisemy whole carry on. But friendly service
TimothyFlew with Jetstar-June 2026
Pack your own device, noise cancelling head phones, free water and a spine board to protect back from person behind,
DennisFlew with Jetstar-Mar 2026
Do online check in and if traveling w other people, get an uber instead of the airport bus. Cheaper and much more comfortable
BillFlew with Qantas Airways-May 2026
Unlike for US airlines, Qantas has baggage weight policies that tend to force you to check bags rather than use carry-ons. Qantas was pretty quick at making checked bags available in baggage claim, but expect to go to baggage claim.
EireneFlew with Jetstar-Feb 2026
If on time schedule is important to you, take the early (morning) flights. Respect their weight, size, and item restrictions - they really do enforce this and it’s built into their system. The staff and crew are helpful - seem guidance and help if required.
FernandoFlew with Qantas Airways-Feb 2026
Book business class when possible. You’ll be very happy you did. This a “long” flight and being able to stretch your legs with make a huge difference.
GraemeFlew with Jetstar-Dec 2025
Better to take your own food. We were in a back row and items we would have purchased were unavailable.
LeanneFlew with Virgin Australia-Dec 2025
Keep carry on baggage to a minimum and small.
WillFlew with Jetstar-Dec 2025
I wouldn't fly Jetstar. Virgin Atlantic flies between Queenstown and Sydney, chose them! Queenstown international is limited to a few gates and only goes to AUS. Auckland and Christchurch give more options.
Verified travelerFlew with Air New Zealand-June 2025
Double check if you are on a connecting flight that your bag is going through. The duty free in sydney airport is great!
AndrewFlew with Virgin Australia-June 2025
Save up and fly business. Sounds ridiculous, but if you are tall, it would be better.
MrDFlew with Jetstar-July 2025
If flying domestically avoid being placed on an internationally designated flight
Verified travelerFlew with Qantas Airways-Apr 2025
Short easy flight on a smaller plane - make sure your carry on is within the limits!
ElioFlew with Qantas Airways-Mar 2025
Check-in you baggage rather than bring it as carry on ! The baggage check-in doesn't open until 3.45am.
KieronFlew with Virgin Australia-Dec 2024
Checked Baggage line up was long, but this might have been a one off, get to the Airport early
MaryFlew with Qantas Airways-Oct 2024
If you are connecting in Sydney on another flight, give yourself a few days break. Sydney is lovely and it will keep you more comfortable on the next long flight.
LisaFlew with Virgin Australia-Sept 2024
The airport is super easy to navigate. Don’t waste money on Ubers or taxis - public transit is a breeze and cheap!
Verified travelerFlew with Virgin Australia-Nov 2024
Bring a tablet, ear phones, charging cable and some snacks for when on the flight.
ErinFlew with Jetstar-Nov 2024
Choose who is right for you cost & comfort all airlines have issues with delays at times so cant be helped some days I usually fly early and have rarely had issues
RubyFlew with Virgin Australia-Nov 2024
Brisbane airport is under renovation. The toilets just out of the gate only have 4 available. Walk for a few minutes and there's much better facilities near the food court.
Verified travelerFlew with Qantas Airways-Sept 2024
Make sure you have enough time to transit from your international flight of this is a connection.
PremFlew with Air New Zealand-Sept 2024
Get there on time. There are no Uber or Taxi service available early morning
DavidFlew with Jetstar-Nov 2024
Cheaper to buy food on board rather than inflated prices at Coolangatta airport.
AmeliaFlew with Jetstar-Oct 2024
Make sure to read terms of ticket fare
MarkFlew with Qantas Airways-Oct 2024
Allow for cancellations and delays in your scheduled.
BilalFlew with Virgin Australia-July 2024
Best to get the first flight in the day to avoid any delay
Verified travelerFlew with Virgin Australia-July 2024
Brisbane airport. You are asked to check in online and get your boarding pass that way. Then at the airport you have to get your own baggage labels from the machine, then you have to line up with everyone to bag drop. The line does move quite quickly so that is a bonus. The security line was also long but they had all belts open which meant it was not a long wait. Brisbane airport is fine.
Verified travelerFlew with Virgin Australia-June 2024
Make sure you check the weight of the suitcases and the carryons get added together so you have to pay a lot of money.
KristyFlew with Qantas Airways-Aug 2024
Only form of disembarkation in Yulara is via mobile stairs wheeled up to the aircraft, and proceeding across the tarmac.
BecFlew with Rex-July 2024
Terminal 2 doesn’t have food or drink outlets open so bring your own food if leaving from this terminal.
MarcoFlew with Qantas Airways-Aug 2024
Read the flight ticket info beforehand, I don't fly very often and I lost my flight to Canberra, so I needed to rebook for the following day, only because car parking is a horror, and you need to follow mile-long queues before you get to your departing gate. I arrived at the airport two hours in advance, and I still lost my flight. the following day I arrived with four hours, plenty of time to spare.
ОлегFlew with Jetstar-Apr 2024
Come early and you might catch an earlier flight
SimonFlew with Qantas Airways-May 2024
Avoid the sunny side of the aircraft as the morning/evening glare can be harsh. Take your own iPad with movies. Have a charge cable handy to recharge your devices.
KristyFlew with Qantas Airways-May 2024
Board early; don’t rely on announcements that never come; ensure personal items are ina bag that can fit under your seat!
Verified travelerFlew with Virgin Australia-Dec 2023
If you’re changing to the international terminal make sure you eat at the entry or the domestic terminal. The international terminal is due for an upgrade and has limited options.
KateFlew with Jetstar-Jan 2024
Don't fly Jetstar, choose a cheaper flight with another carrier. Take your own food/drink and download your own entertainment on a fully charged device (or have a power pack). Don't expect to arrive on time at your destination
SandeepFlew with Jetstar-Feb 2024
Watch out for that last 7:40pm flight. If it’s delays 50 mins like ours was, there’s a chance the flight will be cancelled as Sydney domestic closes at 11 pm.

Fantastic staff and plane Only issue was flying out from terminal 2 at Perth nothing was open to get food or drink, we were there 3 hours early with 2 kids and not prepared to not be able to purchase food or drinks. Having self check in and bag drop would be wonderful too, as we had to wait for staff to arrive to check in despite checking in online the day before . Nothing major but would have made a great trip fantastic!

Enjoyed the comfort of the seats, slight delay to departure time but prompt takeoff and landing.

It asks about entertainment tho it’s not applicable. 10/10 for Rex 👌🏻

Not sure how to answer on the entertainment as there wasn’t any.. Comfort, I wasn’t comfortable as I was on the window side and a morbidly obese man sat in the middle and eased out into my space. I had sciatica so I wasn’t able to move much to get comfortable. Food wise I have a wheat allergy and asked if there was a gluten free option and was given a Byron bay cookie which was lovely tho it wasn’t wheat free. Not to worry. I wasn’t expecting there to be any appropriate snacks for me anyhow. The staff were very generous with the snacks and their concern for the passengers. The staff were amazing tho. Truly amazing ! One of the staff must have noticed my discomfort and helped me out to stand in the back of the plane to stretch which I really appreciated. I would fly with REX again without hesitation. Thank you very much. It was my first flight with you and I look forward to my return flight home on Tuesday. Best wishes to your company 👌🏻

All good, was a one hour flight so no food or entertainment which was expected

Rex is an underrated airline. Its my first time flying them and they were fantastic. the only things that annoyed me about my flight were things other passengers did so it was nothing i or REX could change

Really enjoyed flying with Rex the boarding and booking baggage on was easier than most. I will beat using Rex next time.

On time and a quick flight and staff vert good

Needed more leg room. Leg rest and entertainment system box took up a lot of space and I'm not tall. Breakfast was good. Poor quality of the entertainment options.

They are my favourite airline in the world by a million miles.

Aircon set too high so VERY warm and VERY uncomfortable.

Great! Flight was delayed by 30 mins but all was great. Thanks.

Arriving at Coolangatta, rows 20 forward, took the airbridge across to the terminal. It was suggested to those from rows 21 back, that we take the rear stairs and to be careful crossing the tarmac. That was all well and good. However, when we got across to the terminal we then had to climb three large flights of stairs to meet up with those coming across the airbridge. No elevator! There were people carrying babies and elderly carrying hand luggage that needed assistance from others.. There was no option to turn back.

Flew premium economy, well worth the extra. Much better seat size & space. Meals & snacks were lovely. Crew really pleasant. Internet is not great, not really useful for anything. Couldn't even send messages.

Would have been nice to have decaf coffee as an option, and perhaps a scone

Overall, a great experience from food and crew. The only setback was that this was the Second flight from Air New Zealand within a week that was an hour late for boarding.

The air New Zealand employees who assisted us with wheelchair aid on Auckland made our transfer from flight to the next seamless. Also were amazing in helping with our luggage and customs in Brisbane.

All was good, the only thing was it didn't run on time.

Very good it will be my choice of airline while in Australia.

Flight cancelled due to broken seat. $8 refreshment voucher barely bought a coffee. 3 hours to next flight. Also then delayed.

There were no food or entertainment on this short flight. Friendly staff even before getting on the flight. The seats were snug but it was quick flight

Good flight. On time. No problems. Plane was clean. Service was as you would expect. However nothing special, just a good flight.

Very friendly staff. No food service and no entertainment. Only 1hr 20min flight

High fees for excess checked baggage and somehow ridiculous rules for carry on bags.

Flight was late, food and drink an extra charge, my carry on is five rows behind me, and the seats are too narrow. Don’t ask me to be happy about it

I bought flights in August and there wasn’t a flight in the system

Our 6.30am flight was boarded then cancelled to fly at 10.55am . We were flying to Brisbane to attend a funeral at 12 noon an hour away . This means missing the funeral due to unreliability of Virgin . Unimpressed !!

It was with Link Airways and the Saab 340 jet was noisy and little comfort.

Despite having numerous passengers held up by American Airlines delays. Qantas (an AA partner) closed boarding with 0 flexibility

Boarding , crew and meals were all amazing. Couldn't wish for a better LOOONG flight from Dallas to Sydney .

From start to finish, every part of the experience was outstanding. The care and kindness shown to my 95-year-old mother was exceptional—truly 10 out of 10. From the assistance she received at Sydney Airport while boarding the plane to the help she was given when arriving at Wagga Wagga Airport, every staff member was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. They made her feel comfortable, safe, and well looked after throughout her journey. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make my mother's trip such a wonderful experience. Your compassion and dedication are greatly appreciated.

Was disappointed that we couldn't use our lounge passes as the booking was a group booking.

I think it is much better than the flight I flew from Sydney to Tokyo.

Boarding was effortless, the food was outstanding, the seats in Premium Economy were extremely comfortable, and the staff and crew were excellent.

I never flew with alliance. Kayak is a joke and none of the flights or times were correct. Won’t ever use kayak again

I missed my flight due to unforeseen circumstances It was, however , an excellent price !

We had a medical emergency, needing to get to an emergency room upon landing at LAX. I let the back flight attendants know the situation. One, David, contacted the pilot, who made arrangements for EMT's to be there when we got off the plane. They went above and beyond for us. We didn't have to go through customs, as a customs person came to us and checked us right at the exit of the jet way. Another wonderful woman, a United employee at LAX, perhaps a customer service liaison, took care of our luggage situation, as we weren't going to make our connection to Bozeman. When we came back to LAX to see when we could get a flight to Bozeman, the personnel are very accommodating and booked us on the next flight out, and assigned good seats. It was a horrible flight, physically, from Sydney to LAX, , but the professionalism of all involved was excellent! We are very grateful fir the way they all stepped in and helped during a very unpleasant medical situation. Thank you!!

PREMIUM ECONOMY - excellent !Brilliant new plane. Excellent tv catalogue. Good food. Good communication and service from all friend Australian crew. Good communication from captain. Best travel experience in years.

A good standard flight, a little delayed, on the return flight, comfortable during cruise hour. The food was tasty, the tea pleasant, standing in the rain, on Launceston tarmac, was stupidity. Just delay the exit from the airplane, don’t have us standing around, while another plane slows its propellers. That’s common sense, but overall comfortable, clean toilet, good legroom, I paid for that, last on, first off, get a front row seat.

Cabin crew were really good. Flying in to Perth from Adelaide on domestic flight. The arrival for wheel chair use however has no air bridge provided. Unloading meant a scissor lift. Otherwise a good service.

Knees in back from passenger behind, limited seat pockets, no entertainment.

The Ryanair of Australia. Not impressed. Forced me to gate check my bag as it was over their weight limit. Charged me $125 for the privilege. Then said plane hold was locked and it would have to go out in the next flight, which was the following day. Explained that I was on a cruise the next day and the plane would not arrive until after the ship left, and that it would be impossible to catch up with the cruise at any point. Lady at the gate unimpressed. So to sum up they were ready to charge me $125 to lose a bag. Finally got it resolved by appealing to management, but the whole episode was not good for the blood pressure. The gate lady said they followed the Ryanair business model which means first time passengers get penalized for doing things that other airlines routinely allow.

Delayed 50 mins. Check in was excellent, boarding was good, everything else was OK and perfectly acceptable for a budget airline. Price was excellent. I noticed this airline had two other flights to our destination cancelled so not very reliable.

Horrible. The people that get this flights are very sick, dangerous and unhygienic

Great. Seats are a little cramped with only a very small recline. Service was great. Food was fine.

The flights got us to our destination. The seats on the planes were uncomfortable.

The smells on this plane were disgusting. So many sweaty and unhygienic people i couldn't stand it. I dream of being anywhere else in the world when I am on a JetStar flight they suck.

One of the better flights I’ve had w Jetstar. Smooth boarding, early take off, on time landing, very courteous crew, clean plane.
