Top tips for finding business class flights to Los Angeles

  • Flying direct from the east coast of Australia to Los Angeles Airport (LAX) typically takes between 13 and 15 hours. On long flights, you'll appreciate the opportunity to have extra privacy. On Qatar Airlines flights using an A350 aircraft, their business class seats have a sliding door for extra privacy.
  • Los Angeles Airport is one of the world's busiest airports, and with complimentary chauffeur services from airlines like Etihad and Emirates, getting into the city is a lot easier. They can take you up to 50 miles from the airport.
  • If you're flying from a busy Australian airport like Sydney Kingsford Smith (SYD) or Melbourne Tullamarine (MEL), you'll appreciate the ability to use priority check-in desks and security lanes with business class tickets. Many airlines offer this, but Qantas is very likely to have these services available on this route.
  • If you aren't flying directly, there's a good chance that your flight will stop at one of your airline’s hub airports. This makes it more likely there'll be a business lounge available. Air New Zealand, for example, offers flights from Melbourne that stop in Auckland (AKL), where you can enjoy their Air New Zealand Auckland International Lounge.
  • Flying business class usually means extra luggage allowance. United Airlines allows its business class passengers to check up to two standard bags. Plus, your luggage will usually be among the first to appear on the carousel when you arrive at LAX.
  • Business Class fares are obviously pricier than economy, but if you’re looking for the best deals, Business Class flights to Los Angeles are cheapest in October. On the other hand, fares are at their most expensive during July.
  • To get a below average price, try to book at least 1 week in advance of your departure date.
  • The most expensive day to fly Business Class to Los Angeles is Thursday, while the cheapest is Friday.

seats are pitched well. you don't feel too tight.

For the price, it was better than other airlines; quality of food and service was very good.

Check in process in Manila was so slow. From the time we got in line to reaching the counter we could have arrived at Taipei even if the flight was delayed for half hour.

Great but I am not sure why I was placed in zone 4 for boarding despite being an Infinity Member??? Can you explain online. Thanks

basic and only minimum of service, they offer nothing special

The staff was marvelous. The entertainment options were terrible, old or 2nd rate movies. I was unable to entertain myself for 18 hours-it made it seem even longer. Note: I thought about upgrading but your information about what was included was unclear. Are the seats bigger? Are there current moves? What kind of food do you get? Would the upgrade compare to Delta? Just saying the upgrade is better didn’t convince me and I regret not flying Delta.

The employees were professional and efficient. I consider myself a traveler but have trouble with the international fare served on airplanes. I admit Americans buy their food in the supermarket and we typically don’t eat the ligaments and cartilage. I know that is whiny but as I age, I dislike it more. At least things weren’t covered in cheese. The desserts are terrible! My neighbor didn’t eat her bread so I asked if I could have it. First time for everything but had been traveling a total of 27 hours and was hungry.

Plane is new and I was upgraded to first class so all was great.

EVA Air flight from Wien to Taipei is good, but the on-ground service to arrival gate is bad.

Flight from New Delhi to Tokyo was mediocre. The seats were not of business class as we are used to. They were not wide enough. On the other hand the seats on the flight from Tokyo to San Francisco were excellent every thing were great except the food. Tokyo business lounge was excellent. The whole experience was great except the food on the plane. Will still fly JAL.

The entree wasn’t very good. The rice was soggy. The side dishes were all good though. The breakfast was also good. The crew were excellent, as usual.

The flight attendants were excellent as usual however the meal wasn’t the usual good quality. There is cooked rice was mushy.

This portion of the trip from HCMC to Dallas was operated by American Airline. Unfortunately they are 2 steps below JAL in overall quality. Regardless, AAStill got me where I needed to go on time.

I fly to Asia twice a year for the last 15 years. I always try to fly JAL. It’s always a pleasant experience. Since TripCase shut down, this is the first time I used Kayak for live trip notifications. I was very pleased with Kayak’s quality and helpfulness of notifications. I will be using them going forward.

It's a domestic flight, but still the JAL quality shone through. The crew were polite and helpful and even prepared little gifts / souvenirs for the children on the flight, and everyone got a simple drink. The free wifi for entertainment on the personal device was also a great boon, and the shows surprisingly decent. Would recommend.

Website from the 1990s, super frustrating customer support, inflight experience merely OK - more like United than e.g. Emirates

The seats are significantly more comfortable than US airlines and the staff are much friendlier. The food is also much better, as they are particularly accommodating to any dietary restrictions.

The team members are extremely attentive to make sure you have the best experience.

Seats in "Premium Economy" were noticeably more comfortable than those in "Economy" and worth the price. My only reservation is that the foot rest did not go higher up. If it did, it would have made the seat much more comfortable.

Most relaxing long distance flight I have been on. And I have flown on many.

It was our first time flying with China Airlines and had a very nice experience. The airline staff & crews both on the ground and air were very nice. Food on the plane was very good. Will recommend it to family and friends.

Not great, will likely try to fly another or maybe I should have upgraded my ticket? Needed Air…

Very routh cabin crew food is only 2 meals for 13 hours fry with them They should get better training how to service good super routh language and talking with customer

I would like to commend the staff from this flight. They all looked happy and I can tell they love what they are doing and constantly smiling while serving the passengers. Special mention to the guy FA in our section. I did not get his name but he is so far the best F.A I have ever encountered!

Boarding could have been a little bit better but other than that it was a pretty good experience. I think because of the stowaway to Paris France recently they are being extra diligent about boarding passes at the gate. But they boarded the back of the plane first, and that's something I really think needs to start in the USA.

I was ordered vegetarian food, but didn't services to me :(

I did not take the flight, tried to cancel it right after I booked it, but was unable to reach anyone. I blame Kayak for this situation because they sent the booking through another company and I was unable to get anyone to talk to me about the situation. I had to just take the hit and pay for another flight through Cathay Pacific, which was wonderful. I will never use Kayak again. (I bet they don’t post this review!) I’ll just post about them on social media sites. I don’t want anyone to have to go through the hassle and expense I dealt with.

Airline itself is great. While food was being taken off of my tray my beer spilled which was a total accident and I wasn’t upset about that, what was frustrating was I had to ask for towels to clean up and wipe my leg. It would have been left as is if I hadn’t.

Bars and restaurants in Taipei close early. The lounge isn’t very good, but better than the public areas.

My wife and I liked everything except the cold breakfast

My wife and I liked almost everything about ANA except for the economy seat space and the cold breakfast (croissant which seemed to just come out of the fridge)

The overall experience was ok, though there was certainly room for improvement. My husband was asked to check his carry-on bag at the gate due to claims that the flight was “full.” However, upon boarding, we observed ample overhead space and several empty rows of seats. This made the request appear unnecessary and caused some discomfort, particularly as he was the only passenger singled out for this procedure.

The flight was smooth, but there were not enough options for meals and I was given beef when I do not eat beef. The flight going was much better because we received more snacks.

This was a large plane with an upper deck. It seems like business was upstairs. If it was a US airline then I would say I sat in economy plus, but I think it was just economy. Though since ANA would not allow me to choose seats for the price it may have been plus. Lots of movies to choose from, and good service.

Thankful for the staff who provided blankets cause the plane was quite cold and no way to adjust the airflow in the seats next to the bathroom.

This was the best airline I’ve ever taken. The staff are amazing. The food was great. The pilot was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this airline.

Uh there was a delay, because of the weather. And what took usually an hour flight to Louisville took about 6+ hours. Flight got canceled

I had to get rerouted because the weather delayed my flight enough to miss both of my connecting flights. I select nearly 2 hours on customer service trying to get rerouted and had to miss my first plane which took my luggage to San Francisco. Luckily, customer service sent me to the same airport but I had to ride 12 hours in economy after I paid extra for premium economy. Totally sucks that I overpaid. Customer service and airplane crew were great and really helpful though. Although I still hate how small the seat was, especially since I'm smaller than average, I can't imagine how much it would suck for an average sized person.

Flight attendant took good care of my mom as she boarded on and off the aircraft from her wheelchair. I did not care much for the food nor the movie options Available. I appreciated the increased legroom available in economy. This was one of the main reasons we chose the airline. Overall, the good value and I would fly again.

Not sure who to "blame" but I booked the ticket from SiChuan airline overseas. On the day of flight at the airport, I learnt that our passport information was not entered into the system. I was told by the SiChuan airline that this is not the first time that ticket booked overseas missing ID information. Since airport ticket counter does not have authority to add ID information, we have to call SiChuan airline customer service, Luckily, we arrived at the airport early enough to handle this and SiChuan airline customer service has been very helpful.
