Bring some extra food! Long flight, you don’t get enough and quality is mediocre. No free snacks in between meals except for mini pretzels.
Verified travelerFlew with Qantas AirwaysSYD-DFWFeb 2025
Be at the airport at least 3-4 hours before departure. Lines are long and boarding process is a mess.

Ensure you have 2-3 hours layover You’ll likely need unless you don’t mind missing your next flight

I wish I had known that I would have to go thru customs in Vancouver even though I was scheduled from Australia thru Canada (Vancouver thru Montreal) and on to USA. We did not leave the airport in Canada because there was not enough time between flights. Our checked baggage did not have to go thru customs in Canada...only us. If I had known of this great inconvenience I would have booked a flight direct to USA.

Be prepared for a long flight & take what you absolutely must have in your carry on.
Verified travelerFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesSYD-HNLJan 2024
Sydney airport is real convenient - with access for family members up until the SYD signage pre-security. If you need to go through visitor immigration at HNL, and catch another flight onwards, then please allow for ~3hours layover. The bags need to be picked up post-immigration, dropped off at transit baggage and then there’s a long walk to terminal 1 to reach gates for B, C and beyond (A gates are first). Having just 2 hours layover cuts it close.

We got off a cruise so were at the airport over 7hrs before our flight. We paid for the day pass at the Premium Club. Totally worth it! It was quiet and offered food, drinks, showers and when they closed, we were able to go to the downstairs lounge which opened at 6:30. This lounge was much larger and had a bigger selection of food and beverages. Would definitely go there again.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaSYD-YVRJan 2024
Be prepared for the long haul flight. Try to book your tickets early and choose no more than 1 stop flight. I had 2 stop flight and it drained me out.

Again, Fijian hospitality was genuine, very comfortable, only improvement would be the entertainment. Why Do they only have 5 episodes of TV shows and from like season three...

Fiji Airways was amazing, will definately be lfying them again. The "Fijian hospitality" is not a catch phrase, it is genuine. the only things that could be improved is the entertainment. Not a great choice of movies, and the TV shows only have about 5 or so episodes, and often of a random season.

They will look to squeeze every penny they can out of you!! Pick your seat$$...bring luggage$$$$... if they could charge you for the air on the plane they would!!

.very good and as I needed wheelchair assistance all staff excellent.. only suggestion is get rid of those plastic chairs hard to ride in and staff have trouble compared to others. Everything else very good experience. Will use Fiji Air again.

In-flight entertainment options could use a refresh, Consider a tie-up with Spotify for more current music and with IMDB or other service for newer selections/movie ratings.

See previous comments. Didn’t take this flight because my other flight was so delayed. Ending up on two other flights as a result and was more than a day late.

6 hour delay and they didnt try to make up any time during an over 10 hour flight

Very good; seat made ready for bed after meal, a plus since one airline covered the seat at the start.

Entertainment was not good. Seems like liquor should’ve been advertised only beer and wine was even though I saw others getting liquor didn’t realize I could. And the food to me could’ve been a little bit.

Do the bumpy weather the whole trip they were very few times when the seatbelt sign wasn't on

Great except paying $240 usd for 2 pounds over on a checked luggage. Outrageous.

Nice friendly staff and crew. Love the 787 flight. Get meals and lots of drinks!

Great entertainment options on the screen. uSB A and C chargers. Free WiFi! Crew were excellent.

Check in crew member was very helpful, nice and excellent service👍

Overall the plane was good and the crew great. The big disappointment was the skycouch. Maybe it would be good if you were a parent with 2 small kids travelling but as a couple it's hopeless. It's impossible for 2 adults to lie down so one ends up sitting. We split our time with one lying and the other sitting. We both got more sleep sitting upright. We will never book one again and don't recommend it to anyone.

Not a comfortable trip, the seats are not good, and they look old.

Lost my luggage and brought someone else luggage to my airport.

I flew United from San Francisco to Auckland. My connecting flight from Auckland to Christchurch was canceled with no explanation. I was finally told the cancellation was due to fog. Even though it was clear when we landed. I am from San Francisco, I know what fog is! And I didn't see any fog. I was told the next available flight was 7 hours later. Unacceptable, they should have had a flight ready to go as soon as it was deemed safe to take off.

Our original flight was cancelled from SFO to AKL on 6/16/25. So we had to stay overnight at a hotel after a 12-hour layover plus 3-hour delay before the cancellation. Then had to fly to LA and then to AKL the following day losing an entire day of our vacation in NZ, that we can never get back.

Flight was canceled. I was not alerted. It was only kayak that alerted me

Flight was 2.5 hours late leaving. We spent 50 minutes of that sitting on the plane with no explanation. They did reduce the time in the air so we arrived a little less late which was something. The cheese and crackers were okay but the wine was terrible.

Excellent as always, I won't fly to Australia, and back to the US on any other airline. The flight crew is always top notch, and have a way to make one feel extra special. Thank you for your service, I would rate Qantas Airways a 10+.

Basic airline, aircraft and service. AA gets you from point A to B. My flight was delayed by 2 hours too.

No internet on flight, which makes log travels really hard.

Not great. The inflight entertainment was all on an app, and I did not want to watch a film on my phone. Also, the range of options of films was limited.

by the time they got to our row, they were out of some of the food options. games and movies were great but maybe more game options like tetris or pac man would be great

A few more inches of legroom is all i ask

Great as usual, some delays but well communicated and made up for in the air

Business class points redemption - good value for points paid, dubious value if out of your own pocket, domestic class business product okay for this length of flight. The flight left and arrived on time, crew were good, aircraft was a bit old and tired, but still miles ahead of their competitors in Virgin and Jetstar.

Quick and seamless boarding. No entertainment but fast Starlink wifi for this short trip and the staff was really friendly.

One bag is incorrect and not acceptable for an international flight. The food was not just good. I won't fly with them again.

Not the fault of United—weather, reroute around weather, time sitting on tarmac, arrived couple hours late, too late for train into city necessitating a much pricier cab but weather…can’t be helped.

We were in business class. the angled seats in that class do not have a real window view & the placement of the controls are bad. But we knew that. But the food options were mediocre. The taste was fine, but the size was for a child. It’s just really feels like United is skimping on everything. Even when we were in the Polaris lounge they did not have diet sodas. They said they were out no Coke zero no Diet Coke, etc. I do not think the portion of nuts they serve on the plane could get any smaller. Really a minimal service and offer for what you’re paying for in business.

Lufthansa was great from Lisbon to Frankfurt. The United Airlines flight from Frankfurt to Denver was very cramped. In that tight space, when the seat in front was fully declined I could barely move. I'm a fairly small person, I can't imagine what a larger person would feel like.

My husband and I had boarded the flight from Denver to Chicago, and one of the last passengers to get on the plane opened the overhead bin above my husband's seat and threw his bag out of the bin to make space for his own. He said, "Mine is bigger!" The flight attendant supported the new passenger. They didn't care that my husband has two artificial knees and must have the foot room in front of his seat to be able to fit his legs in -- and to be able to stand, much less walk, at the end of the flight. I have never seen this happen before, and it was a disaster.

Great service on board. Boarding a bit slow due to process. Food was pretty average.

It is clear that someone knew, and competent, is in charge of food at United Airlines at least for the international flights. I was flying in coach, but the choices of the dinner were excellent. Tasty, and appropriate size. I had the beef, which was a little bit like a shepherds pie, and it was good. Nothing comparable has been served on a United flight in years. It will not be confused with three star food, but it is very good for airline food. Even better was the breakfast choice between a cinnamon roll and a breakfast sandwich. I chose the breakfast sandwich which was absolutely delicious and which I would happily order again at my local Starbucks or Panera. It is clear that someone knew indifferent is in charge of the food and it’s about time.

Had to cancel first flight because Airporter Bus took over 3 hrs to get to airport which resulted in an extra $378 dollar fare . Is there anyway I can be reimbursed for initial fare since it was not my fault? Sent from my iPhone EJ Ledet

Plane was crowded and even when we hit altitude, the plane was hot, not enough air flow.

Good but need to be better with the flight times.

Seats too small and too cramped, I have stomach cancer and I threw up after the flight . No advance boarding for disabled people. No aisle seats available for disabled people who have to use the washroom frequently. No space for cabin baggage for disabled people who have to carry bulky medications or equipment to use on the flight. Baggage rules and fees are ridiculous. I have been an aeroplan member for 30 years and I fly frequently, but from now on I will choose offshore carriers. .

My outbound trip on Air Canada was cancelled due to the strike. I had to cancel my return flight after booking with other carriers.

The flight attendants were not very nice. No smiles On my return trip I was charged for one bag $83.30 although I had purchased the flight including one piece of luggage. Can this be refunded to me? Thank you!

From Montreal to Cincinnati the flight was perfect! Flight free and everyone was perfect and a pleasure to travel with. But from Casablanca to Montreal the flight crew were quite cold, unhelpful, also seemed to scold many passengers instead of simply educating or instructing them. There were a couple for sure I could describe but not name… i was really shocked bc my experience w air Canada is typically a good one at the very least. It seemed something was very much so I’m the air w the crew. The two older lady crew members and the male were amazing but the younger lady crew members w the exception of one were very clique-y and snarky, sassy

Terrible confusion btw air Canada and United. Wasn’t able to change ticket because I had purchased on kayak. Rethinking booking tickets on this site, and will try to avoid United and aircanada going forward.

It was okay until this flight had mechanical problems which made us miss our connecting flight and my friend and I had to pay an extra $500 each to get to our next location at a later time.

I like the friendliness of the crew members. I think the snack could’ve been better instead of a small package of pretzel. I like that they offer me something to drink.

Previous flight from Melbourne to Brisbane was late. I had 1 hr 40 min to get to the connecting flight. That was not enough time as I had to take a shuttle bus to change terminal. Then needed to get through security and customs. The airline was announcing my name to board at 9:10. The take off time was scheduled for 9:40 but I was again one of the last to board at about 9:20. Kayak needs to allow more time for these connections

Almost missed boarding, mass line up made me be the last person. Wish the announcement was more loud, didn’t hear what seats or zones were ready. Being last also made finding space for my roller bag. Fortunately the flight attendants made it work!
