This racket is the ultimate way to rip somebody off of $1000. Horrible."

Pros: "The aircraft was clean, new, spacious and quiet. The bathrooms were regularly maintained. The food quality, selection and quantity was excellent for the economy class. Even the serving utensils were solid metal and had a very high quality feel to it. Having an endless supply of mid flight snacks was also appreciatd I always like the warm wet towels, which were offered at take off and landing. The entertainment choices were endless, but because it had USB and regular power, I was able to work on my laptop and listen to my podcasts on phone without worrying about running out of battery."
Cons: "The crew lacked its usual pep and cheer. For some reason they seemed very introverted and tired. First time on Singapore Airline that I noticed. The amenities kit was a bit on the cheap side. Also, only the supplied two prong headphones could be used with the entertainment system, I would have preferred an option to use my high end ones -- this was the main reason I chose to just work and listen to my own music/podcasts instead of watching a movie. We boarded and disembarked through the business sections and the aisles were too narrow. The announcements were hard to hear and the temperature was set too low for half of the flight (to kept fluctuating requiring constant adjustment of blanket/jacket). Having said that will keep flying them."

Then being made to take 1 point something kilos into another lighter bag. However the staff were very good about it. not their fault that they find themselves having to talk through something that just doesn't ad up. However we enjoyed the flight, and the help we received transferring from a very late plane to one almost waiting in Fiji. :-)"

Pros: "I traveled with my 4 children and my husband. Out of Honolulu the flight is scheduled very late so i had extemely exhausted children. The gate agents were so very helpful and so compassionate, especially because my 4 month old baby was crying. They stepped up and helped me with my other kids as my husband was out looking for water to make a bottle for him. Awesome awesome service! The crew was very nice and helpful when we were all sleeping. Did not bother us once and they let us sleep. Unfortunately I did not try their food service but my husband said it was delicious. The only thing was that they only offered a couple of movies via some small screen at the ceiling of plane making it hard for my 5 yo daughter to watch anything ultimately relying on their tablets which dies early. Overall, from check in to touch down, it was a very pleasant flight! Oh! And the blankets were so soft!!"

Cons: "They were a minimum 45 minutes late (one 2 hour, 2 one hour) for every flight. Their running late caused us to miss our connection to Brisbane, so they sent us to Sydney. The ,late flight into Sydney cause us to miss our flight into Brisbane (our ticketed destination city). As we de-planed on the Jetway was a woman holding a sign with 12 - 114 names on it, we were one. She told us to go the the transfer desk and they would help us. We had never been in Sydney, could not find a transfer desk (there was none) found the ticketing counter - nobody there, found the airline office - nobody there, went back to the ticket counter nobody still there, asked a competing airline, they directed us to an air travel management office, where we found Fiji Air personnel. They were surprised we were not told where to go. they tracked down the office manager. We finally met with him at 1:40 PM, he told us our flight was in the domestic terminal and scheduled to leave at 2:00 PM. There was no way we could make it to the plane on time. He was rather rude to us and asked us how we thought we were getting to Brisbane, We responded with "I don't know as we've never been here before". Having never been there. we did not know there was an international and a domestic terminal at the Sydney airport. He told us who we were to fly out on and he was going to call over to the other airline and straighten it out. We went to the domestic terminal tried to check in for our flight, but we could not. That airline called Fiji Air to find out why, after half an hour they were told Fiji Air would not honor our flight as we were noted as "no Shows"/. We had to book another flight to Brisbane. The flights were great, we have had VERY BAD EXPERIENCES with the ground personnel,"

Cons: "We had a banana from LAX airport and intended to eat it on the 13-hour overnight flight. Unfortunately we forgot about it. The customs at Nadi found it on X-ray and slapped us with FJ$400 fine! One of the Fijian bio security officer told us that "by handing out big fines, we hope the airlines will remind passengers of biosecurity rules...". But Fijian airways failed to do that. $400 fine is a horrible start of your vacation and we will never come back to visit Fiji. We will also advise all our friends not to visit Fiji on facebook."

Pros: "The staff were great and I LOVED the pillows and blankets, by far the best I've ever seen on any airline!"

Cons: "We were charged $330 for 3 bags. We were not aware of these charges. In addition we were told that if we paid on line for the bags just 2 hours earlier that the charges would have been just a fraction of that price. Very deceptive!"

We had to pay $60 AUS to Check my daughter’s carry on at the gate because her backpack was over 7 kilos, with no option to have it count toward our overall max weight. Also had 4 hour layover but could not do the manual transfer to next leg until 3 hours before flight, putting a dent into our layover plans. I will avoid using this airline due to hassles in the future."

There was literally no option to purchase it during my purchase process (I scrutinized every step of the process since I had been burned re baggage prices on my previous JetStar flight). I paid more for baggage on this flight than the previous flight even tho I paid for a lower amount of kilos. I decided to drive for the next of my flags instead of fly Jetstar again. Over it."

Honestly I don't know how he got a customer-facing position when his best response is "you should know better" when we mentioned that we were under the impression that the carry on baggage limit didn't include purses. We didn't get food, and entertainment was nonexistent (which is why we went with what we thought was Quantas). Added to the long line for Jetstar bag drop and the uncomfortable airplane, I'll never fly Jetstar again. Furthermore, Quantas should seriously consider whether lying to its customers is a good strategy."

Cons: "There was a huge delay, all the flights I bypassed with Virgin because they didn't leave early enough left long before us. While we were waiting they didn't even post anything at the gate. Once on the plane the seats were among the tightest I have ever experienced. They even charge for coffee. I won't use them again if I have an option."

Pros: "On checking in, they charged us a penalty fee, and then our flight got cancelled at the last minute without any options to get back to the city in time for work. Had to book a last minute flight with a different airline and couldn't get luggage back in time to take it along!"

The flight attendants in the galley kept opening and closing doors for majority of the flight. The flight was a red eye so it was hard to rest. The flight does not offer blankets, pillows, food, or drinks without paying for these items. So, if you are flying with Jetstar make sure to bring these items."

Pros: "The times were good for me. I was able to maximize my time in Cairns whilst getting back to work on Monday. I paid extra for the legroom. The additional room was excellent. More room than I have had on other major airlines. The slight staff was extremely friendly."

Cons: "Jetstar changed our flight and made it earlier by 3 hours, causing us to have to schedule the next day instead and lose half a day at our destination, they didn't even offer a free checked bag to compensate for our losing half a day in touring! Seat recline is almost nil, spacing, my 5'7" frame knees were in the seat in front....boarding chaotic, would never fly them again! Charge bags at odd weight increments....."

Cons: "Flight was changed to earlier flight - was guaranteed a window and did not get a window; had to change from the domestic to international terminal and then had to go through CUSTOMS for this domestic flight because it came out of international terminal adding time to my travel. Almost lost my luggage. Carousel took forever to retrieve luggage. Flight left 50 minutes late. Reduced airport staff = 80 people not checked in by 10 minutes till boarding. Everyone was going through security when the flight was calling "final boarding". Poor entertainment and food selection. A lot of Asians were on this flight and no staff member spoke Asian for those who didn't speak English - which is strange for an Asia predominant airline. This led to some confusion between the crew and passengers delaying departure due to head count issues."

Cons: "Jetstar is a low budget airline similar to Jet Blue in the US. When you book ensure that you pay for one or two pieces of luggage if you don't you will get a rude awakening upon check in. We had to pay an extra $200.00 to get our luggage to Cairns. Ensure you buy luggage if you book a Jetstar flight on the internet."

Cons: "Payed $90 online to choose my seat, but was denied it at boarding, no refund. the cabin is freezing cold and they make you pay $10 for the little blanket, but actually they deny it to you on board if you didn't pay online (I laughed out loud because that is total nonsense). they charge $4 for the coffee... No big deal. But besides those little details, it's an overall unpleasant experience and even a bit sinister they way they cut corners. They seem to be cutting corners on safety with their taxiway and parking procedures much like Ryanair. I was swiftly reprimanded for taking some perfectly innocent photos of the plane (like every holiday goer does), because the pilot didn't want any 'trouble'. Whatever the reason for that immediately defensive reaction, it's not a good sign. jetstar has a bad record of safety as we all know."

Paying for baggage checked, paying for carry-on, paying to reserve a seat, no seat back pocket at any seat, paying for anything you want to eat or drink, even a cup of water is not provided-/you must pay. It would not surprise me if oxygen masks were needed that there would be a charge. I basically despise being nickled and dimed at every turn."

Cons: "We left 3 hours late and I got into Narita Tokyo too late to make a train home."

Cons: "I thought my ears were deceiving me when they mentioned 3 AUD for lavatory use! Inhumane! And that's on top of having to pay for my check-in luggage. I felt completely dooped! Traveling through the outback, I had no scale, no wifi, etc. And after paying an exorbitant amount, we were STILL given hassles for our carry-on.. Apparently if you "wear" your luggage on your body, it's free of charge (but on aggregate, it still adds to weight & balance of the plane). And how this all contributes to fast handling is beyond me. Moronic rules! Of all the great times I had in Australia, JetStar was the only utter disappointment I had to endure! Never again!"

Pros: "Hm. Just thinking...... nothing come to my mind. Probably I can say they are very consistent and always trying hard to give you trouble and rip you off."
Cons: "I was on 3 day vacation booked to fly off at 7am from Sydney to reach Cairns at 10am and return after 2 days taking 7:15pm flight to reach Sydney around 10pm. This will be complete 3 days plan in Cairns. They delayed morning 7am flight by 4 hours. We went to the airport at 4am and sitting there till 11am. They did not even provide food coupon in spite of me approaching supervisor. Reached Cain at 3pm and by the time I picked my car and ready for sight seeing time is over and entire city is quite. We lost one day. Return fight at 7:45 cancelled and they moved us to 12 noon. We lost that day as well. Very bad baggage service."

You didn't have any choice (other than not eating a salad...) - The aircraft required some updates to its facilities. The chairs, audio jacks, and TV monitor weren't functioning properly at all for the 16 hour flight"

Cons: "Due to the Cairns to Tokyo being canceled, we had to take a direct flight from Gold Coast to Tokyo. For that flight, we had to wait outside in the rain, because there was no communication between the plane and the staff at the boarding gate. Then we had to run through the rain to actually board the plane. Thankfully when we arrived in Tokyo they provided cover for exiting the plane. I doubt I will ever fly Jet Star again, and I'll tell everyone I know not to ever fly with you if they can help it."

Cons: "The luggage issues for this airline can be complicated. It was difficult to tell from our online booking whether luggage was included (depends on your fare type). After considerable research we found that it wasn't. The price to add it, which you could do on line, was fair. However, when we found there were no lockers at the airport to store our extra baggage, we were almost hit with the outrageous rate of $15 per kilo for all the weight that we hadn't already contracted for. BE SURE you purchase the weight you need in advance or you will have major problems at the airport. They do have scales at check-in to weigh your stuff yourself in advance, and they didn't weight our carry on baggage. Customer service in Sydney wasn't very good. Staff seemed kinda cranky and unwilling to be very helpful."

Pros: "The plane was nice and I was comfortable for the most part in coach. Which is where I always fly. The leg room was good and I had ample storage overhead and below the seat in front of me. The staff were nice. The co-pilot was very polite."
Cons: "At the end of the day you don't want the customer thinking....geez, for the cost I ended up paying, I could have bought the higher priced ticket with _____ airline. My opinion, this would not be my choice of business models. - Some reasonable amount of luggage should be included past the carry on. - I would not charge separately for blankets and entertainment. If I did it would be such a nominal fee that everyone would just do it. - I feel the same way for snacks, water, soda, coffee, etc. Some appropriate fee that is not a major upcharge. I think from a customer satisfaction standpoint I would charge $25 more on each ticket and provide more without all the upcharges. It just feels better."

Cons: "First of all, while booking my flight online, the site canceled my transaction 3 times because the price had risen up while I was completing the forms. I ended up paying more than the initial price. Also, the site never asked me about my bagages and when I tried adding one, it wouldn't let me. Therefore, I figured that it wasn't required to mark how many bags I was checking in and that it will be done once I get to the airport. Biggest mistake! Not only did we need to pay 50$ for a bag of 15kg and 15$ for every kg over this limit, but the employee at the check-in counter was the ruddest person and was treating us as if we we're stupid. Indeed, I tried explaining to her the situation and how the website never asked for our bags but she kept saying how it was all our fault and didn't sympathize one bit. Worst service I've ever received in an airport."

Cons: "Big discrimination singled us out from a line of 100 plus passengers and checked our carry on bag/s for weight. Air line representative said that we have 5 minutes to throw things or adjust bags or you r not going or pay 50 dollars each which we paid. These bags were the same we got from Sydney. We were on vacation and these guys ruined it. We definitely need to file complaint to some agency for not checking any one else carry on in that line except ours. Many passengers had heavy bags than ours. Pls do not recommend this jet star to anyone."
