Pros: "Easy check in on line and at baggage check in at Nadi, landing was good, the fact that we made it safely was also good, great crew - I felt sorry for them too!"
Cons: "Screaming kids, I had one kicking the back of my seat pretty much the whole trip, as well as throwing tantrums (I know this isn't the fault of the airline but the crew could've helped a tad more - can't blame them for not wanting to go near them though I didn't want to be seated in front oft them either!!!) No tv for inflight entertainment, meal very average, they ran out of one of the choices early on (probably the only good choice!), landing was good…very relieved to arrive!"

Abu Dhabi made all Sydney passengers go through security including full cabin luggage checks twice. Abu Dhabi made me check in the duty free that I bought in Dublin. It was a connecting flight so why on earth was that something I had to do. I could not check in online, choose seats or update preferences. They sat my daughter separately and I was fobbed off in each airport and until Abu Dhabi where the cabin manager took so long I had to ask another passenger to swap. My son was sick as he walked off the ramp and I had to stand and direct people around the vomit for over 10 minutes while staff dragged their feet getting help. I will never fly Virgin with etihad again."

Cons: "The boarding had not started at the time due 22:25, I went to the rest room and on return the gate was closed for boarding. Staff advised they had commenced removing my luggage from the plane. The plane was still there but they would not let me board.! There was no call or final call or even a personal call with my name., staff said they were not required to do that. Then after pleading with no result, I requested my baggage. Staff sent me to baggage claim 2. There was no baggage, and by that time no Virgin Australia staff in the airport until 3pm the following day. I was stuck in a foreign airport, no luggage, no assistance at all from Virgin Australia to get my luggage, find accommodation, rebook a flight which resultingly cost US$900. I was distraught, the plane was still there and my luggage had not yet been removed and they refused me to board the flight!! The Virgin guy in charge was obnoxious and could not have cared less about my welfare, he personally accused me of swearing and I calmly reminded him I had not once used derogitorive language, that language was from another customer who was also refused to board. I question W that the flight was overbooked? This is not the airline Sir Richard Branson whom I have briefly met in Cairns airport promotes. Pitiful service.!!"

Cons: "I have put past a lot of things that jetstar airlines have done in the past, including the 140$ that I had to pay to change and pay to rebook or pay to cancel and there were no given supports with credits, so I ended up abandoning the flight altogether losing the money. I flew jetstar from Sydney to Sunshine Coast with my backpack a personal bag and a tote bag. I had previously paid 20$ for checked luggage. Making my total for the flight 80$ no one asked to weigh my bags or questioned them. Making the 20$ extra just disappear? . They did make me throw out my beverage upon entered the aircraft that I just purchased, I would assume because it’s a ‘safety issue’ even though the airline does not give complimentary anything so I’m assuming it’s mostly competition of sales.In Gold Coast I checked my bags through security got to the gate and they had a trolly weighing bags. They asked me if I was traveling with someone else which I replied with a no. They then weighed my backpack saying it was 7kgs and I had to come with them to the front. So my backpack personal item and tote bag was too much all of a sudden. I offered to give up the tote bag which then turned the situation into that all of my bags were over weight and it was going to charge me 60$ for my 7kg backpack. I said 60$ was expensive and I paid 20$ last time for my checked bags on the way here that I hadn’t used and he said too bad. Meanwhile the majority of people boarding past me had had rolling luggage and an additional bag or a personal item and when I said something to the employee he told me I’m wrong and they were all weighed and it’s 60$ for my belongings to be checked and put under the plane? Because 60$ somehow made the weight of the flight more light? Horrible customer service. I didn’t get I’m sorry any compassion I got what are you paying with? I paid 60$ or miss my flight. 60$ could have given me one more flight. Also to mention the flight was not even completely full so what did that 60$ accomplish? Awful awful awful . So in the future I suppose I’m just going to donate 20$ regardless if I have checked luggage or not because paying for everything is the only consistent thing on jetstar. On the positive side they let me jump the line after I paid 60$ for my “overweight luggage” and I got to my assigned seat more quickly."

If we would have known that in the beginning we would have been more understanding. I thought for sure the airline would offer a beverage in the flight or something to make up for it. Nope. Just don’t fly JetStar. Really. It’s not worth the money you save."

Nevertheless, when I tried to purchase the checked bag, I was misdirected twice and separate scales were 7kilos apart! Thus my “budget airfare” from Sydney to Coolangatta was $94, my checked bag in the other direction cost $124! This was the only hiccup, but the bag check process was unnecessarily expensive, unwieldy, and confusing."

No big deal. But besides those little details, it's an overall unpleasant experience and even a bit sinister they way they cut corners. They seem to be cutting corners on safety with their taxiway and parking procedures much like Ryanair. I was swiftly reprimanded for taking some perfectly innocent photos of the plane (like every holiday goer does), because the pilot didn't want any 'trouble'. Whatever the reason for that immediately defensive reaction, it's not a good sign. jetstar has a bad record of safety as we all know."

We were on vacation and these guys ruined it. We definitely need to file complaint to some agency for not checking any one else carry on in that line except ours. Many passengers had heavy bags than ours. Pls do not recommend this jet star to anyone."

Cons: "No options for check in baggage when I purchased the ticket online, so baggage cost me $260 at check-in. Agents at the desk were extremely indifferent and borderline rude, overall extremely unhelpful. Airplane interior was dingy, seat cushions were worn down and flat, extremely limited leg space (I cannot stress enough how inadequate the leg space was), no entertainment. No complimentary drinks, not even water."

And I was only allowed to carry 7 kg on the plane including my purse, while other people carried on multiple carry-on bags that were obviously much heavier than my 7 kg allowance. I felt totally singled out and ripped off. Boarding was disorganized."
